I can't believe that I didn't take a picture of it first, but I think I was too frustrated and just wanted to clean it up. So I did.
Rewind a few minutes. I had been on the phone when my 4 year old came in naked with something that looked like dark red ink or something similar on her face and back side. I had no idea what she'd gotten into until she told me she found it in my bathroom. So, I quickly go in to see what the damage was and found what I'd suspected. A whole tube of lipstick smeared on the tub, floor, bath rugs, and counter along with soap, lotion, dental floss and misc. feminine hygiene products that my girls seem so captivated by. I don't know why they keep playing with those things.
Anyway, after half a roll of paper towels and a conversation with my husband at work I had it all cleaned up. If this wasn't the worst I could have done ok. But, that is never it at my house. At the same time the two oldest were arguing about who got to wear the green leotard to be Tinkerbell, each screaming at the other while I am trying to get the baby to take a nap. The oldest decided to grunt and growl at the 3 year old, there was some kind of an altercation and then crying by the younger one. I went upstairs and the older one got a swat on her still-naked back side for the stunt she'd pulled (mind you, my kids rarely get spanked) and then she told me her common line as of late, "Well then I will call you a stupid mommy." What? Did she really say that to me again? Yes, she did. So, she got another swat which sent her screaming to her room and slamming the door.
Yes, it's been a bit of a rough afternoon and Matt had only been gone for an hour. This morning he told me, "They were only alone for a few minutes" after I found those same two girls in the bathroom spreading soap and water everywhere for the umpteenth time. So, it really doesn't take that long for them to get themselves and everything involved into a complete mess.
I turned on a movie, they are having a "tea party" and I am enjoying a few quiet moments in front of my computer hoping to salvage any sanity I might have left today. I think I'll go scrapbook. I could use some creative time.
I hope the rest of you are having a great day. I apologize for seriously neglecting this blog lately. We've been so sick the last week and a half and I haven't been doing much. I do have a few scrapbook pages I could share, so maybe I'll do that later.

February AC Bailey projects
Today is my project posting day so I'll share a few things here as well. For February I got to work with the "Together" collection from Chatterbox including the felt and chipboard pieces that go with the paper set.
I had fun with each project but think I like the page with the picture of Matt the best. Being a parent truly is hard work, much harder than I ever imagined it would be. Emotionally I can be a complete wreck some days, and today is no exception. I guess it's all worth it in the end and I hope that someday I can feel like I've been a good parent for my kids.

a couple more cards
One of the great things about AC Bailey kits is that they are so full of product. I still have more to work with even after making these two little cards and the other things I've posted previously.

long walks on the beach, fun new paper
I am not a big buyer of paper stacks like I used to be but couldn't resist getting this one, the Green Stack from Die Cuts With a View (DCWV). Here is a fun page I made with a picture of Matt, Sarah and my parents from our trip to Washington this last summer. Isn't the paper so cute?? The chipboard is from the same collection :)
too much Mulan
I thought it would be fun for the kids to do some painting this afternoon. Nothing major, just cheap watercolor paints but fun for them nevertheless. They'd done a few paintings each and then Hailey disappeared upstairs. I figured she was done painting and was going to play until Sarah yelled out to me that Hailey had painted her face.
It turns out that Hailey was trying to be like Mulan, of course. There is a part in the Disney movie where Mulan gets her face painted and since Mulan is one of Hailey's favorites right now, of course she had to paint her face as well. I got a few pictures, had a talk with Hailey about face painting and promptly washed it off. Thankfully all of it came off easily.

I don't think we'll be watching Mulan for a while, at least not the same day that I let the girls paint. Nope. I don't think that's a good idea anymore.

winter in our town
Winter in our part of west Texas is so mild compared to what we experienced while living in Idaho. About a week or so ago, however, we got some snow!! Not like the wannabe snow we got a month ago, but actual snow that covered the ground. Of course it was all gone by the next day but still, it was snow, so beautiful and white. I love the look of the trees covered with ice and love the peacefulness snow lends to the world around me.
Here are a few pictures I took of the snow. Granted it's nowhere near the amount of snow that many people have seen this winter but for us, it's wonderful!! The girls were so excited they even laid down in the 1/2 inch (if that much)we got and tried to make snow angels.

fun Scenic Route news!!
It got an exciting email last night- one from Scenic Route!! Scenic Route is a scrapbook product manufacturer and each month they hold an online contest with specific product use requirements. For January, however, we could choose any SR product, create a layout and enter that in the contest. The email I got last night was to tell me that my layout was among those chosen for the month of January!! Fun, huh? You can check it out http://www.scenicroutepaper.com/Site3/ExtraInfo2.aspx
And, here is cute Aimee, the girl with the winning smile :) I am sure they liked the page more for her adorable-ness than for my scrapbooking skills. :)

and another funny story
I was talking to Sarah this morning before church about how maybe someday we could fly to Disneyland to see the Princesses she and Hailey love so much. She told me that we couldn't fly because we don't have wings. I reminded her that Peter Pan could fly even though he doesn't have wings and told her that we could maybe fly if we had some pixie dust to which she told me that we didn't have any. So, I asked her where we could get some pixie dust and she said, "at the doctor." I will have to ask the girls' doctor about that next time we go to visit.
AC Bailey February kit
It's the first of the month so I am not officially allowed to share with you the new kit from AC Bailey. This kit includes paper and stickers from the new Basic Grey collection, Bittersweet, some Kaiser Craft bling, a journal notebook from Making Memories, glittery flowers, buttons and more. Here are a few projects I have put together so far.
The paper was perfect for cutting into to make pretty borders and for extra flower embellishments on my pages. Check back for some more projects I'll make with the TONS I still have left over from this kit.

Oh, and just another reminder that today is free shipping day at AC Bailey!! Just place an order of $35 after all sales and other discounts and the shipping is FREE! You can't get a much better deal that that.
