I found this cute new background at shabbyblogs.com.
Isn't it cute?
I am going to make a few more changes probably, so please pardon my dust.

my little painted ladies
I have not been feeling well lately, probably the same kind of stomach bug that's been going around town for quite some time, and a headache to go along with it.
I got up yesterday, unwillingly, and headed in to talk to Matt who was now home from work and my sister called telling me that I'd sent her some wierd email which later turned out to be a bigger deal- I'd unknowingly opened up an attachment in an email from a friend and now a virus was attacking our computer and sending emails out to everyone in my address book, my sister included. We later found out that it was a Trojan Horse and we are trying to get rid of it still.
Anyway, back to the point of this post. I pulled out the kids' watercolor paints and some paper and let them be creative for a while until I heard laughter and shrieks and saw as they ran to the bathroom to get a good look at themselves. I guess they'd decided that their paper canvases were too limiting so they'd turned to paint on themselves- their arms and hands and faces and hair.
I was tired and not feeling well and figured that since it was just watercolor paint it wasn't a big deal so instead of getting frustrated I grabbed the camera and let them have some more fun before putting all 3 girls in the tub. At least it was just paint...do you remember when Hailey used a purple marker all over that didn't come off? Yeah, that was not fun. This washed off pretty quickly though I think that Hailey still has a little bit of blue on her eyelid.

poor Aimee has a bad cold, too.
They had so much fun being clowns they thought it would be fun to get ALL dressed up.

There's a party in my tummy- July Nook kit and an SRM sketch challenge
I don't know where Aimee picked up this little song, most definitely from one of the shows she watches sometimes but it goes something like this:
There's a party in my tummy
so yummy, so yummy
There's a party in my tummy!
I took these pictures of Aimee while we were visiting my sister who lives in Colorado and knew that this song would make a great title for the page, so here it is:

My Scrapbook Nook July kit!
It's been a whirlwind around here since we got back from our trip- not that we've just been SO very busy but I feel like time is passing and I am not getting done what I need to do. There are still piles of laundry that need some help, bathrooms to clean and a fridge to clean and restock but I've been so overwhelmingly tired! It's funny that you always seem to need a vacation to recuperate after getting home from a vacation.
I wanted to share a layout with you today that I created using the July kit from My Scrapbook Nook featuring the gorgeous "Hello Sunshine" line from Lily Bee. You know I love this collection so HAVING to play with it again has been such a treat.

This little sun was cut from one of the cute Jenni Bowlin journal cards
I decided it would be fun to turn that little sun into a mask for a journaling space
LOVE those little Jenni Bowlin butterflies and I topped them off with some of the black dots from the Thickers in the kit; the sentiments on the Cosmo Cricket sheet are so cute♥
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!
p.s. Is this cool or what? This layout is the featured page today at 2 Peas in a Bucket:

peek at the July kit from My Scrapbook Nook
Hi, again!
I'm writing to you from not-so-sunny Washington to give you a peek at the July kit at My Scrapbook Nook. If you've read my blog at all lately you know that I love the new "Hello Sunshine" collection from Lily Bee so you know that I was so excited to find out that this would be featured in the Nook's July kit.
One of the layouts that I created recently with this collection was picked up for the November issue of Scrapbook Trends, so it's a good luck charm for me!
Here's a peek at some of what you'll find in the kit:

Doesn't it look great so far? You'll also get some cute black and white ribbon pleats from Pink Paislee and much more. What's even better is that this kit, available for $28 to kit club members is valued at $36. The Nook kits are not only gorgeous but an incredible deal as well. And, if you're a kit club member already and one of your friends joins you will get a $20 shop credit. Isn't that so cool?!

Cosmo Cricket DeLovely & SRM Stickers blog hop!
Hello and welcome to the SRM Stickers DeLovely Blog Hop!
When I heard that we were going to have this blog hop today I thought that there was no better way to celebrate than to share my birthday with Cosmo Cricket ♥ Wouldn't you agree? Cosmo Cricket has been so very good to us at SRM Stickers- I hope that you enjoy this little tribute to them today.
To start this hop, please visit the SRM blog for a full list of our design team member blogs. The hop continues all weekend long with a chance to win a fabulous SRM Stickers prize package. You should have started with the incredibly amazing Jenyfur Pohl before coming to visit here. If not, hop on over there and follow the links on our blogs to complete the hop!
I have to say that I was VERY excited to see the new Cosmo Cricket DeLovely collection when it was first introduced on their blog and I couldn't wait to get my hands on some. I checked the Cosmo Cricket online store over and over and over only to find that the product wasn't yet available. You can imagine my excitement and absolute glee when I found out that the design team at SRM would receive the WHOLE collection to play with. I love the bright, cheery colors and got to work right away. I especially liked the way the bright colors POP against the black background of my page.

hi from Washington
Hello!
Do you miss me yet?
I've been gone from Texas for a week now and I hope you're all well.
We've been up to Amarillo to see some good friends there (thanks again Bryan and Janelle!- Aimee keeps asking if we are going back to your house). We've also been to Colorado (hi Ellie and Ross and girls), to central Utah and to the Salt Lake area, then up to Boise (thanks so much Shelley and Bonnie) and now we're up in the land of the Twilight series to visit my parents for a few days. We're even heading up to Forks tomorrow probably and are going to the beach. Should be fun.
Stay tuned tomorrow for the SRM Stickers/Cosmo Cricket DeLovely blog hop!

Happy Birthday to Laura!
I thought it was such a great idea when I first heard about this blog hop for the talented Laura Vegas.
p.s. You should have started with Lynn's blog and come here from the fabulous Aly Dosdall's blog.
This is such a fun way to wish someone a very happy birthday. Laura, I hope that you are enjoying all of these birthday wishes JUST FOR YOU!
Laura and I are on the Jillibean Soup team together (yay!) but I've admired her work from afar for many years. I am always amazed at what she can pull together and just love her style. She seems like the kind of person who you could just sit down with and feel immediately at ease chatting and sipping some nice cool lemonade.
I hope you have a wonderful, happy, fun and love-filled day, Laura!

fun with SRM Stickers
The theme of the month at SRM Stickers is "here comes the sun."
There were so many ways this theme could be interpreted but I wanted to scrap these pictures of Hailey at swimming lessons last summer so here is what I came up with using some SRM Stickers with Crate Paper, My Little Shoebox and Webster's Pages papers:

I have just loved being a part of the SRM Stickers team so far; the stickers are so versatile and so easy to use. I can't wait to see what Susan is cooking up for the summer product release.

and another layout to share with you
Are you loving the June Nook kit?
I sure am! ♥
Leah Killian, our design team coordinator and kit planner extraordinaire, is so good at picking just the right things to go in a kit. The best part about this June kit- it's jam-packed and almost $40 worth of supplies for only $28 plus shipping for kit club members. Isn't that wonderful? I certainly think so. When my time as a design team member comes to an end I will certainly continue on as a kit club member at My Scrapbook Nook.
Here's a page with a picture I've wanted to scrap for a long time. The girls had so much fun on our trip to Disneyland last spring and one of the biggest highlights was our breakfast with Minnie Mouse and her friends. The food was delicious, served buffet style and complete with little Minnie/Mickey-shaped waffles, fresh fruit and just about any other yummy thing you could imagine for breakfast.
The girls got so excited when they spotted Captain Hook. Since the "Peter Pan" movie is one of their favorites they couldn't help but jump up and down and you could see the excitement on their little faces as they shouted out, "Captain Hook-y, Captain Hook-y" over and over. Hailey and Sarah couldn't wait to have their picture taken with the fierce pirate while Aimee started to scream at the sight of him, but that's a whole other layout idea.

Aren't those little tickets so fun? The flowers are hand cut from the MME patterned paper as is the zigzag border under the picture. One of my absolute favorite scrapbooking techniques is to make my own embellishments from the patterned paper.
Happy scrapping, everyone!

My Scrapbook Nook June kit card
I've been having lots of fun scrapping with My Mind's Eye's "So Sophie" line featured in the June kit from My Scrapbook Nook. This time, instead of sharing another page I have a card to show you.
The flowers were cut from the MME paper and the bling and little alphas were from previous Nook kits.

another Nook layout- keeping things simple this time
I really enjoy it when I can pull out my scrapbooking supplies and a page comes together so quickly.
Granted, this is a simple one anyway, but it was so quick and easy and fun.
Here are some pictures of my Hailey that I've had for a while and had been wanting to scrap and today I found the perfect opportunity. She's a cutie, a little more serious than Sarah or Aimee, so it catches me off-guard sometimes when she does silly things. Not that she isn't funny, she's just not as much as a joker as her sisters.

See? It's very simple in design and lets the photos take center stage. I think that sometimes I have a little bit too much going on with my pages so it was nice to simplify this one. Along with the June kit papers I added some Basic Grey and Sassafras embellishments to add some more fun color.
Have a great day!

another little Cosmo card and a new Jillibean blinkie contest
taking care of sick kids stinks.
period.
It has worn me out so much over the last few weeks but it looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
For some exciting news- I got my June kit from My Scrapbook Nook yesterday so I'll soon be able to share some fun new things with you. For now here's a card that I created using the ever-so-adorable Early Bird line from Cosmo Cricket.
***Sorry, I had to remove this because it will be in the November issue of Cards Magazine! Yay!!!

sharing some Lily Bee love
Just a quick post before I head off to bed.
It was a busy day of cleaning, painting finger/toe nails, baths, braiding hair, planting our garden, reading stories and my activity at the church and there wasn't any time for scrapping but I'll share with you a layout I made over the weekend.
This page uses the new "Hello Sunshine" line from Lily Bee. I have been pleasantly surprised at how easy this line is to use even with the bright colors that are so far out of my normal comfort zone. I think that my comfort zone is changing :)

One thing that I ♥ about this line is the rub-ons. They come on a 12x12 sheet and they are so buttery smooth.
I also really like cutting flowers from the cute red floral piece of paper :)
Those chipboard flowers are pretty darn cute, too.

My little sunshine made with strips of the yellow polka dot paper, wrinkled, folded, inked and then stapled to make the rays of the sun.
See ya later!
p.s. this is a Friday Fave over at Lily Bee today, Friday June 4th!

fun new Cosmo Cricket card
Sometimes when I'm in a slump or just want a change from page scrapping I'll do some cards.
On the night last week when I pulled out my Cosmo Cricket to make the layout I shared yesterday I also made this card. While I love the new, brightly colored DeLovely collection I also like the subdued colors in the Earth Love line.

Any Twilight fans out there? I took the girls to the library yesterday afternoon and after we picked out some books for them I finally gave in and picked up a copy of Twilight. I thought that maybe I'd stay up late reading but instead went to bed at the same time the girls did to help settle them during the storm last night and fell asleep. So, I haven't even read the first page! Looks like I have some reading to do today.
Also, we bought some more plants for our garden yesterday- tomatoes and zucchini, peas, cucumber, watermelon, spaghetti squash, etc. Along with my reading today I also have some planting to do.
Have a wonderful scrappy day!
p.s. thank you to all who come to visit my blog! I've had over 25,000 visitors- maybe I'll have to do another giveaway soon ♥
p.s.s. I have a new love that I can't wait to scrap with- Sassafras just revealed their new line, Indie Girl and I am in love.
Isn't it so pretty? The color combo is just beautiful! You can bet you'll see this on a future page of mine.
