how about some more December Nook kit pictures?

While I have some pictures that are more exciting to me (gasp! did I actually say that?- I had my first ultrasound today and have some pictures from that which maybe I can share later) I have more pictures of the December Nook kit, too, thanks to the lovely Leah.

Here they are, and aren't they pretty?

It's a fun mix of My Mind's Eye, Pink Paislee, Maya Road, and Jillibean Soup.

RUN to the Nook store because this one will probably not last long!

the December kit from My Scrapbook Nook

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas for many of you with all of the snow some have been receiving.

Sadly, we haven't gotten any snow yet (I'm still hoping since we got some for Christmas last year!) but I DO have my December Nook kit and thought I'd share some sneaks with you that Leah shared on the board:

This kit is full of the traditional colors of Christmas and is perfect for holiday cards, layouts and other projects and contains the following:

2 sheets of each Holly Jolly paper
1 Holly Jolly chipboard collection
1 set of Jillibean Soup Alphabeans
Pink Paislee Starlight Double Alphabet
1 Set of Jillibean Soup journaling sprouts
Maya Road snowflake chipboard
1 yard of Jute trim

Happy Thanksgiving

What are you thankful for today?

There are so many things for which I am grateful and I hope that we can all think about that today and every day.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones!

I found a new park yesterday

How are you today?

I have done a little bit of scrapping (need to do some more today) and can share those projects as soon as they hit the Jillibean blog. For today, though, I'll share with you some new Hailey pictures.

I told a friend a while back that I would be willing to take some pictures of her family so that I could get more practice with my camera and with shooting pics of groups. She recently took me up on the offer and I wanted to find just the right spot. There aren't a lot of scenic places here around Lubbock so we had to search high and low to find something that would be a suitable place for her and for us to have some pictures taken as well.

We drove all over town and I wasn't really satisfied until I found this place:

I wanted to find a place where there were some fall-colored trees. One park that we found was pretty but everything just looked like it was dying. I wanted some red and gold and other fall colors, which is really hard to find around here but look what we found at this park: Ta da!

It's not like back East but it'll do for us.

I was driving there, not exactly sure where I was going when I spotted a park with a bridge and immediately turned to check it out. Turns out I was at the right place and I was so excited. There are TWO bridges, both perfect scenery for taking some pictures. There are some really great trees for kids to climb in as well and HUGE boulders for kids to climb on. There is normally a fountain as well but it's been shut down for the season.

This was a fun bridge- we just had to watch out for a spot at one end where there was a big HOLE.
Yes, that will be something to warn our friends about today while we're there. We don't want any kids to fall through into the water below!

This is the metal bridge that you see as you are arriving at the park but look at this little beauty:

The light shining onto the bridge in the late afternoon is so pretty.
yep, I loved it ♥♥♥

Hailey did, too. ♥

I 'd heard of a place outside of our little town where there was a happy face painted on the outside of a big barn/shed. Someone ran into it a while back and they had to tear it down but have recently rebuilt-  Hailey can't wait to take her sisters back there to have some pictures taken. It was dark by the time we got there so this isn't the best exposure but you get the idea.

If any of you locals want to know where these places are, just ask ☺

And here's a shot of the gorgeous sunset last night that I took after we stopped at the smiley face- no color adjusting, just a little sharpening.

I am excited to go and take some pictures today.

Do YOU have a favorite place to take pictures of your family? Any tips for taking great family shots?

I hope you have a great day!

how about another layout from the Nook kit?

Happy Friday, everyone!

Just a quick post today to share a layout I made using the November kit from My Scrapbook Nook.

I love the Circa 1934 collection from Cosmo Cricket but has having a hard time finding pictures that would do it justice because of the color scheme. The great thing about this collection is that there are some neutral grid pages like this one and I decided to just do it up and not worry too much about making everything match perfectly. I wanted to use this picture from the balloon fiesta that we went to in Albuquerque last month so I went with it ☺ I misted the background, cut out some 6's from one of the papers, used the little banner chipboard and there ya go:

Yes, in case you didn't know before, I am pregnant- about 12 weeks along now and I have been so, SO, so sick this time around. Perhaps it's a boy, perhaps it's twins, perhaps it's another girl ☺This little kiddo was a surprise for sure since we'd been trying for a year with no success and then I found out kind of as an after-thought because I went to the doctor for something else and they ran all kinds of labs and the doctor caught me as I was leaving to tell me that basically, "by the way, you're also pregnant." You should have seen the look of shock on his face. I don't know if maybe he thought this would be bad news for us? I had to reassure him that it was welcome news. Each pregnancy is different and this one has me so tired, so sick. And, it's the reason I had to cut back on my scrapbooking that I love so much. I haven't been able to do hardly anything the last month except for the bare minimum for the Nook, American Crafts and Jillibean Soup. I had to let go of everything else, which was sad and hard but the best thing for right now. One of these days I'll be ready to jump right back in!

So there ya go...I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

my Christmas mini for Jillibean Soup

This was posted on the Jillibean blog yesterday so I thought I would share some pics here sans the tutorial. You can find all of that info on the blog here:
http://jillibeansoup.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/11/tutorial-on-tuesday-reusing-jillibean-soup-packaging-for-a-christmas-mini-album/comments/page/2/#comments

And just what did I use to make this cute flower-shaped album? Why, I recycled the packaging from the new corrugated shapes from Jillibean Soup! Of course!! And, since I have gotten comments about this: If you don't have enough packages simply use the packaging as a template to make more pages ☺

This was SUCH a fun project and allowed me to use some of my older Jillibean papers along with the new releases and LOTS of cool embellishments. I have to say that my love for Jillibean is growing. I just saw some of the new things that will be coming out with this next CHA and Y'ALL ARE GOING TO LOVE IT, TOO!

Anyway, I've been up since before 4- blame it on the pregnancy, feeling sick and dealing with insomnia already. I got some cards prepped for a class I'm teaching at play group today and now it's almost time to get Hailey up for school. I hope I can squeeze in a nap sometime today.

Is anyone out there?

It seems my blog is a bit lonely for comments lately.

I hope you're all having a wonderful day!

p.s. don't forget to check the Jillibean Soup blog every day for your chance to win some of the new stamps!

a peek at what has been keeping me busy

While I haven't been able to scrap as much as I'd like to lately I have been working on this cute little Christmas mini which will be featured on the Jillibean Soup blog tomorrow.

Here is just a little peek:

I'll see you all again tomorrow!

hey Janelle and another Nook layout with Circa 1934

I just wanted to make sure that Janelle knew she was the winner of the giveaway.

congrats, Janelle! I know you'll do amazing things with what I send- hopefully you can use it all or you can just pass it on to the kids or another scrappy friend.

I was happy to see Janelle win because you see, she was my scrappy friend here until she moved away. She has an amazing family and we just love them. They are amazing parents with the cutest kids and she's a great scrapper, too. Congrats again, Janelle!!

Thank you to all of you for taking the time to stop by my blog and leave comments. I just love reading every single one of them and wish that I could send something to each of you.

I wanted to share another Nook layout that I created with our November kit featuring Circa 1934 from Cosmo Cricket. Here is Aimee standing by the carousel at the local county fair this fall. We'd gone to the fair with Sarah's preschool class to go to the petting zoo with them and decided to stick around and see what else was going on. We had funnel cake and Church on the Rock corndogs and fresh lemonade. We were, however, there too early to go on any of the rides. I know how much Aimee loves the carousel and it was hard for her to not be able to go for a ride.

and a couple of detail shots:

Have a wonderful Monday!

I'm off to take some pictures of a Jillibean Soup project I've been working on. Oh, that reminds me- Jill is doing 10 days of stamp giveaways so make sure and check the blog every day for your chance to win:
and I will have a tutorial for my Christmas mini up on the Jillibean blog tomorrow.

Congratulations, Janelle. I'll get this to you asap!

happy Saturday and another layout

Good morning!

How is your weekend going so far?

While we enjoyed going to the girls' soccer games EVERY Saturday I am happy to have my Saturdays back.

It's been cold here so I'm not sure what we're going to do today, probably just clean up some things around the house since there is so much to do. Last night we took it easy- built a fire in the fireplace and made s'mores and then the girls hung out and watched the Boise State football game with Matt and gorged on Halloween candy while I took a nap on the couch.

**just have to say that the giveaway is now closed. I'll choose a winner and post that soon***

Here's a new page for you; I made it using some Jillibean Soup (orange), Pink Paislee (ivory with hearts) and American Crafts (pink and green houndstooth) papers and then added some old Chatterbox embellishments from my stash, too. Jillibean corrugated flower and journal spot, AC and October Afternoon alphas.

One day Aimee decided that she wanted to wear her pumpkin costume WITH her pink fairy wings. OF COURSE! And she was dang cute doing it.

I hope you have a great weekend.

a little horn tooting and a reminder

Guess what I saw this morning on Two Peas in a Bucket?

Yep, my Nook layout is #1 most liked and #2 most bookmarked right now.

Pretty cool, huh? It is for me, anyway.

And, a quick reminder- if  you want to have a chance at my giveaway, scroll down to the giveaway main post and leave a comment. I'll close it tonight and then choose a winner and post that on Monday.

sharing some Nook kit love

Do you remember that gorgeous kit that I showed you? The one full of new Cosmo Cricket?

Well, it's sold out. They're all gone.

I'm not really surprised...Leah outdid herself on this one for sure.

Here's a page that I put together using some pictures of little Aimee from Halloween with her dressed up as Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl from Toy Story. She was so cute!

I really have enjoyed using the artisan frames from Pink Paislee. I was a bit intimidated by them at first but love how much they add to this page. I decided to keep this one clean (I inked the frame on another layout I made) and added some little pearls from Creative Charms.

I also really liked the brads from My Mind's Eye. On this page, though, I took them apart to ink the separate paper pieces and switched out the brad on the one below and used the big stripey one instead. It's fun to change things up sometimes.

I am going to get busy in my scrap room today (yay!) because I have so many things due SOON and I have to get them done. Feel free to send some creative juices my way! I'll have some more to share with you tomorrow. Have a great day!

some pics of the giveaway goods

I know that some of you have been anxious to see what I am giving away this time- I told you it would be a mix of things, so here you go:

If you want a chance to win this you have to leave a comment on THIS thread-
http://onescrappinmama.blogspot.com/2010/11/i-think-its-time-for-me-to-do-another.html
none of the other ones will be counted, unfortunately. I am just too wiped out lately to go through everything so make sure yours is in the right spot!

1 sheet of each in my favorite new Bo Bunny release- Kris generously gave us 3 of each so I thought I'd be kind and share one set with one of you.

canvas flowers and stamps from Jillibean Soup- somehow between Jill and kit extras from the Nook I ended up with LOTS of these.

a mix of a bunch of stuff- kraft envelopes from Maya Road, gluestick, some tickets, cards, stickers, foam adhesive from American Crafts (Abode and Enchanted collections)- I wish that I had extra paper to send but I only got one of each sheet from AC. Sorry! There's also some AC buttons and some cute flowers and brads from Creative Charms.

10 sheets each of kraft and black cardstock, some American Crafts Dear Lizzy Christmas (wish I had more of this extra to send to you- sorry- I picked up a few with my design team order but don't have extras of all of the sheets), some AC stamps and embellishments to go with the Christmas line.

One of most of the new AC City Park line- this is my favorite from the latest release so I made sure to order some extra; also some Thickers and other embellishments from the City Park line.

The next two pics are Bo Bunny- again, Kris was always very generous and I don't think I'd use up 3 of each sheet of paper in each of these collections so here are some for you- this year's pretty Christmas collection and the other two new lines:

What do you think?

Is it worth playing for?

If so, please leave a comment on the thread that I referenced above. I'll close the drawing this weekend and let you know who the lucky winner is on Monday.

Have a great night!
