another Jillibean project

Good morning!

There is less than two weeks until Christmas- are you ready?

Here's a quick gift idea for you using Jillibean Soup and a plastic tube from SRM Press.

I filled the tube with hot cocoa mix and marshmallows and used the Christmas Chestnut Soup collection from Jillibean Soup to decorate the tube and make the card.

Have a great day!

Pink Paislee and SRM Stickers

Good morning!

I have really enjoyed being a part of the team at SRM Stickers this year.

One of the HUGE perks of being on this team is getting lots of brand new releases from some of my favorite scrapbooking companies. This time around it's Pink Paislee. I was excited to get a 6x6 of  Sweetness  along with the Hocus Pocus collection to play with.

I created a card that was already shown on the SRM blog but I don't think I'd posted it here:

It is kind of hard to see in the picture but I used one of the new white sentiments for this card. You can see the new "We've Got Your Sticker" sets by clicking on this link:

I also created a two-page layout (shocker, I know!) using the Hocus Pocus collection which was so perfect for scrapping LAST YEAR'S pumpkin carving pictures.

Have wonderful day! Make sure to stop by the SRM blog to see the other ladies' creations.

Basic Grey Pyrus

When I found out that some members of our SRM Stickers team would get to play with some of the new Basic Grey paper releases I jumped at the chance. I received the Pyrus collection, perfect for fall.

I started with a 6x6 calendar from SRM as my base but instead of making a calendar I created a mini album that my family can use this Thanksgiving (or any time for that matter) to write down what we're thankful for. We like to do this every year so there's a page for each of us. I kept it pretty simple as you can see, using some Basic Grey stickers, punched flowers and SRM Fall Sticker Sentiments to decorate the pages:

a few cards for you this Monday

Good morning to you! I hope that you had a great weekend. We traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the International Balloon Fiesta and had a fantastic time. I'll share some pictures from that here tomorrow. And, since we went to the county fair last week I'll share some pics of that, too. And some pics from the corn maze/pumpkin patch. I have been just swamped lately and haven't updated this poor blog as much as I should.

As some of you might know, this World Card Making Day was this weekend.

SRM Stickers celebrated by showing LOTS of cards created by our team using fabulous Penny Black stamps. You can see the cards here:

http://srm-stickers.blogspot.com/

While you're there you'll see some cards that I created using the Basic Grey Pyrus collection, perfect for fall! Here is just one of those cards:

At My Scrapbook Nook our design team posted lots of card sketches, which you can see here:

Here is my card sketch and the card that goes along with it (using American Crafts Dear Lizzy). If you create a card using this sketch post a link here in the comments so I can see!

And, since it was the wonderful Jenyfur Pohl's birthday this weekend, we as members of the SRM Stickers team made her some cards. Here is the quick card I made using the new Seaside collection from October Afternoon.

Have a wonderful day!

These cute stickers were some of my favorites from this past CHA.

Here's a card I made using some- I love that the sentiments are available in white, black and brown.

and a close-up of the center (I simply mounted the stickers on cardstock and cut them out.)
The journal spot is from Jillibean Soup ♥

Everyday Girl from SRM Stickers

It's been a blast to be on the team at SRM Stickers and this last CHA release had some of the best stickers yet.

Today we are showing off the new "Everyday Girl" stickers which were, of course, perfect for me with my three girls. Here's a Hailey layout that I made using those stickers.

I walked into the kitchen one day and Hailey was creating a dress for her Barbie- she is so great at designing, whether it be in her drawings, her dress-up clothes ensembles or organizing the girls' activities. I thought this was such a clever thing for her to do! I used the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl line for this page along with a mix of American Crafts Thickers.

Here are some detail shots so you can get a better look at the stickers and journaling:

more fun with Cosmo Cricket Togetherness

One of the best parts about being on the team at SRM Stickers (besides getting all of those fun stickers!) is being able to work with fun, FREE product from some of SRM's friends like Cosmo Cricket.

I was so excited to find out that we were going to receive some of Cosmo Cricket's new CHA release and was even more anxious as I found out that we'd get two collections. WE all received the Togetherness collection, one of my favorites from this CHA release, and Pixielicious as well.

Thank you SRM and Cosmo Cricket!

Today we are all featuring the Togetherness collection so make sure and check things out on the SRM blog to see everyone's work and then check the individual blogs for more detailed pictures. You will find the links for these on the right side of my blog. On Friday we'll be showing off what we did with the other collection we received.

First off, here's the layout I created using the Togetherness Papercrafting Kit.

I used SRM Stickers from the new Everyday Girl collection- so fun!

One of my favorite techniques in scrapbooking is hand cutting elements from patterned paper to use as embellishments. I made everything you see on this page from the Togetherness Papercrafting kit though you might wonder if I had more than that. With a little bit of time and some careful cutting you can have some great embellishments to enhance your page even if you didn't buy any of the other embellishments from the collection. You can see a few examples of this in the following photos.

I added some dimension to the red polka dot bird with some foam adhesive.

I cut out and added some doodling around the edges of the clouds and then popped one up with foam adhesive again. For the butterflies I simply put adhesive right in the center so that I could bend up the wings a bit and give a sense of motion. It also adds more dimension to the page than if I'd just glued it down flat.

Aren't those little pinwheels cute? I cut them from one of the journaling cards and added a brad to the center.

If you take a look at the sentiment that runs across the group of pictures you will see that all of the wording is in black. Originally one of the "watch me" parts was in green, but in order to make it stand out more over the top of my picture I simply cut the same phrase from another sticker sheet and layered it on top and voila!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Check back tomorrow for more with Cosmo Cricket and a great new card sketch from Jen.

p.s. Make sure to stop by the SRM blog for a chance to win some Cosmo and SRM Stickers!

happy birthday to Hailey and a couple of projects

Yes, it's my oldest daughter's birthday today! She's turning 6 today and will head off to first grade in less than a week. She will probably always be the youngest in her class but she was so ready to begin school, so smart and is doing SO well with her reading and other things.

Happy birthday sweet Hailey. We love you so very much

Right now Hailey loves to:
*draw pictures of princesses and mermaids and flowers and anything else she sets her mind to
*sing Primary songs and those from Barbie movies and shows she watches on Nick Jr. (the Backyardigans, Wonder Pets and Dora) as well as songs she makes up herself
*do gymnastics and is excited to play soccer in the fall
*putting together outfits with her dress-up clothes (dresses with necklaces and other accessories)
*make books out of scrap paper which she fills with drawings and stories she makes up
*playing on the swings and monkey bars
*cheesy noodles and pickles and nectarines and cinnamon rolls- not all together, of course.
*playing with her puppy, Bella

In honor of Hailey's birthday I also have a layout to share, a page that was done for SRM Stickers that will be shown on their blog today, too. This page was created using a mix of Sassafras products, lots of SRM Stickers and some pictures of Hailey from her first day of kindergarten last year. It was quite an emotional day for us and I was so nervous about leaving her there at school and worrying about whether or not she was okay.

I did lots of hand cut work on this page, as you can see, layering the pieces here and there on the page.
SRM Stickers: Express Yourself #42020 School
Say it With Stickers #40035 Kindergarten
Live Life #49003

We are celebrating today by having cinnamon rolls and fruit for breakfast, going out to lunch and then going the Nickelodeon Storytime Live show that's in town today- just the perfect timing for a birthday outing. We'll get to see all of the girls' favorite characters from Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, Ni Hao Kai Lan and Dora. It should be quite a fun time for everyone.

Today I also have a project to share with you using items from Creative Charms. I am doing a 3-month stint on the CC design team and it's been fun to get to play with all of the cute embellishments.

I used papers from My Mind's Eye, Making Memories, Creative Imaginations and DreamStreet.
Journal spot: My Mind's Eye
Alphas: American Crafts, October Afternoon
Flowers (velvet and braided flowers) and bling from Creative Charms

I used one of the blue flowers from August's deal of the month only I took the sequined center off and used the flower to layer with one of the orange braided flowers and used the sequins as accents on the page.

I also created a card for Creative Charms this month which I'll share with you tomorrow. You can see more projects made with Creative Charms embellishments on their blog here:

Check back on my blog later this week for a feature with SRM Stickers and new Cosmo Cricket as well.

Don't forget to leave a comment on my giveaway post down below for your chance to win.

good morning Cosmo Cricket

Hello and happy Monday, right?

Monday came far too early here this morning since our little puppy, Bella, was howling at a quarter to four this morning which woke up my 4 year old, too. I took her outside (the dog, not the kid) to do her duty and fed her a bit and then put her back in her crate where she sleeps but it took her so long to settle down. By the time she did and I got Sarah and myself back to sleep I heard my 2 year old crying for me. She was up on the stairs looking for me. Poor girl...so I took her back to bed and laid in her room for a bit and then Bella started in again...it was almost 6 and I'd hardly gotten back to sleep. So...I took her outside again to eat and do her duty and to play a little and then put her in her crate and waited for her to settle down and now my almost-6 year old is up.

It's going to be a fun day around here!!!

Anyway, I have had some fun at least. Thanks to those kind people at Cosmo Cricket who just love SRM Stickers and have a great working relationship with Susan (owner of SRM) each DT member received a couple of the new CHA releases from Cosmo Cricket. I got the Togetherness and Pixie-licious lines and just really, really like them. Togetherness was one of my faves from this CHA so I was ecstatic, of course, and as Susan said, it is "so me." So me, in fact, that I sat down on Friday night and started working on a layout.

Here is my silly Sarah in her goggles at swim lessons last month. She is an original, no one in the world is quite like her- she marches to the beat of her own drum, and she's the tiny, spunky leader in the front of the line. We sure love that silly girl. She literally climbs the walls at home- I'll have to post a picture of her doing that-and though she is little she sure packs a punch!

and some detail shots:

All of the paper elements came from the papercrafting kit (I'll have to get my hands on the chipboard once it's up for sale!)- I just cut out the little birdies and flowers and tags and clouds- and the buttons and stickers are from Cosmo Cricket as well. Thanks again, Susan and Cosmo Cricket!

quick page today

We are back from our quick trip to Amarillo- we left on Friday and stayed the night at a hotel, went swimming and played and relaxed and then went to the zoo and Cadillac Ranch today before heading back home. The girls enjoyed the zoo but it was a bit hot and humid there, thankfully the zoo wasn't that large. By the end Aimee was definitely ready to go. We stopped at Braum's for lunch and then drove over to the Cadillac Ranch, snapped a few pics and were on our way.

I have made a few quick layouts recently and I am amazed at how much more I can get done if I keep things more simple. I always like to see others do simple pages but I like to do a lot of hand cutting, inking and doodling and that stuff just takes time. Here's a Hailey page I made the other day:

This is my Hailey at swim lessons last week. I used Cosmo Cricket core'dinations cardstock for the background, some Bella Blvd patterned paper, Cosmo and American Crafts alphas, Webster's Pages trim, an SRM Sticker "little miss sunshine", a Jillibean Soup journaling sprout and a Sassafras flower to top it off.

happy 4th of July!

(stickers from SRM Stickers, paper from Pink Paislee)

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays- not just because of fireworks and parades and barbecues but because many of the people I know and thousands I don't know and many others who have since passed on who have sacrificed so much of their time, their livelihood their ALL to serve our country and to protect our freedoms. Some of you may have family members who are serving in the military right now- thank you for the sacrifices that you make as well so that we can have a safer world to live in.

This is a layout that I created for SRM Stickers using two of the 4th of July sticker sheets along with papers from Jenni Bowlin and Lily Bee. The flower punch is from EK Success and it's one of my favorites!

These are pictures of Hailey from the 4th of July parade last year; I believe it's important to instill a sense of patriotism in our children even when they are young. Hailey had her hand on her heart as the guardsmen passed by with the American flag.

One of the most patriotic people I know is my mother-in-law. She has a great love for her country and for those who serve. Here's a layout I made of her with pictures from last year as well, made using the July mini kit featuring Webster's Pages from My Scrapbook Nook last year. I know this is an old page as well, and a lot of you have seen it before I but thought I'd share it today anyway.

If you have seen the July Scrapbook Trends you've seen another of my 4th of July pages- it's the opener for the 4th of July section of the July issue. That was such an exciting thing for me.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day with your family and friends. May God bless this nation and those who serve so diligently to protect the freedoms we enjoy.

Happy 4th of July!
