using up kits

Do you get kits from a club?

Do you find that you use up the entire kit?

For the layout I am sharing today I used items from the Early Autumn kit from Noel Mignon as well as some bits and pieces I had sitting on my table from recent projects:

The papers and "my smile begins with you" are from the Noel Mignon kit and I added some Pebbles Inc. tape (gold scallop, numbers), a cork "xoxo" and banner shape I'd cut out for something else but didn't use, some stars from a BasicGrey project, some twine, a doily, a gold glitter heart from the new Maggie Holmes line, a cardstock title piece (can't remember where this was from?). The copper-colored tape at the top of the page is from My Mind's Eye.

It is fun to mix and match things!

Have a great day!

playing with Fancy Pants

The other day I decided to pull some things out of my stash and just scrap for fun.

Life has been busy with things for my kids and I just wanted to play ♥

I pulled things from my stash and mixed up a bunch of Fancy Pants collections and like the fun, colorful result.

I used one of these cute library cards for my journaling. I actually cut down the length of the card because I didn't want it to cover up the tail of the Y in "lucky." Don't be afraid to alter your supplies to fit what you want to do on your page.

This silver "lucky" was cut using my Silhouette Cameo. The hearts were cut from gold glitter cardstock using a metal die from Lifestyle Crafts. The "xoxo" was cut using a metal die from Amy Tangerine/American Crafts. I so love gold lately as you have probably noticed. It took me a while to grab onto the trend but now I incorporate it into so many of my projects and I don't see it going away any time soon.

I love the cute little cork hearts and stars that came in a past Fancy Pants collection and I like the texture that they add to my page. These little tags are so fun, too!

Have a great day!

fun with texture and Lifestyle Crafts

Hello!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Today I have a few cards to share with you that I created using some of the brand new embossing folders from Lifestyle Crafts. In case you hadn't heard, Lifestyle Crafts/We R Memory Keepers was recently purchased by American Crafts. Now you can get even more great scrapbooking and crafting supplies all in one place.

For these cards I used the following supplies:

Lifestyle Crafts Evolution diecutting platform
Lifestyle Crafts Embossing folders: stripe, chevron, wood grain, polka dot
Lifestyle Crafts Albums Made Easy dies: Instagram frames, Icons
Lifestyle Crafts 4x12 vellum sheets
Lifestyle Crafts adhesive cork sheets
Lifestyle Crafts Kraft chipboard
We R Memory Keepers Albums Made Easy: Bloom journaling cards
We R Memory Keepers Enamel Shapes: Cool
Heidi Swapp sentiment sticker
American Crafts foam Thickers and cardstock

For this card I combined lots of  texture by using both the cork and the embossed paper. I used the larger of the two Instagram frames cut out of the cork and it worked so smoothly! I love that you can use the dies to cut so many different materials and it works well every time.

It is easy to use the embossing folders. All you have to do is cut your paper to size, put it inside the folder, close it and run it through your Evolution or other diecutting platform (Big Shot, etc.)

It may be hard to tell in this main picture but below you can see the striped lines on the white vellum. It adds a bit of sophistication and detail to an otherwise simple card. I LOVE the Instagram frames die. I can see myself using this one over and over and over! This is the smaller of the two in the set.

For this last card I decided to try out the Lifestyle Crafts kraft cardstock. It runs as smooth as butter through the machine and works so well with the embossing folders!

For this simple card I used the kraft carstock, a journaling card from the Bloom Albums Made Easy set, a cork heart cut using the Instagram Icons dies and a couple of enamel dots. It makes for a pretty, quick and easy card.

Have you tried out the new dies or embossing folders from Lifestyle Crafts yet?

using Lifestyle Crafts dies as stencils

**For your chance to win a spot in the PageMaps U Card class please leave a comment on this post.**

Hello again!

Today I have a project to share with you that I created for Lifestyle Crafts for this month.

I really like the LC dies for quickly cutting shapes for projects but decided to change things up a bit this month and use them in a different way- as a stencil.

I chose the large butterfly punch since I'd planned to use butterflies on my page. This would further emphasize the theme of the layout. I simply laid the die down on my patterned paper (from We R Memory Keepers) and sprayed over the die with white Mister Huey mist from Studio Calico. I moved the die up the page to continue the effect.

After I finished with the "stenciling" I turned the die over and did kind of a stamping effect using up the spray mist that had accumulated on the back of the metal die. This helped to create a subtle but visually interesting backdrop for the fairy picture of my Aimee.

Here are a few close-up shots where you can see the misted/stamped background as well as the butterflies I cut out of Lifestyle Crafts adhesive vellum using the same buttefly punch.

The gold butterflies were cut from Lifestyle Crafts gold Shape N Tape washi paper, as was the word "today." I used the Shape Pocket Scrap "Today" die set for that word and Shape Pocket Scrap Starter Dies set for cutting the patterned paper cards behind the picture.

The alphabet stickers are some of my favorite Thickers from American Crafts. The cork is also available from Lifestyle Crafts/We R Memory Keepers and cuts so easily in your diecutting machine (Evolution, Big Shot, etc.)

And here is a look at the finished page:

What do you think of the stencil/stamp work I did using the Lifestyle Crafts metal butterfly die?
