Pixie Dust from Tinkerbell

Of all the magical fairies in Pixie Hollow, Tinkerbell is definitely the girls' favorite, so you can imagine their delight when they got to meet her in person at Disneyland last week. It's hard to believe that last Thursday was our last day at the park and that a week has passed by already. So sad. I'd love to go back and Sarah is already asking me about when we get to go again. Not for a while, sweet girl.

Anyway, here is a layout I put together with some pics of the girls and that famous fairy herself, Tinkerbell. I used some products from the April kit from Label Tulip (so sad that Amanda, former DT-er at AC Bailey is no longer on the LT team- thanks for the inspiration, Amanda!!) and added some green and blue Thickers, some glitter (of course!!) and some paper from My Little Yellow Bicycle (orange plaid) and Sassafras Lass(green, orange and yellow plaid).

I wanted to do something different on this page to prevent getting into a design rut, so I used the large chipboard piece from the Label Tulip kit as a template for my background behind the main picture. I layered that on the Sassafras Lass paper and then clipped the edges all the way around to add some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

p.s. wow, that's really not a great pic of the layout, is it? I'll have to take another and fix this post later on today.

Meeting Snow White

This was by far one of the greatest highlights of our Disneyland trip!! The girls love the princesses but Snow White is Sarah's absolute favorite, she even dressed up as Snow White for this last Halloween. It was amazing how much the "real" people looked like the characters from the Disney movies. Snow White was sweet and approachable with the girls, leaving Hailey and Sarah with a happy glow.

Here is a layout I created with some pictures from that encouter. I used the gorgeous April kit from My Scrapbook Nook featuring new products from Prima and Pink Paislee. This is another example of the paper ruffles I talked about the other day, and I carried out the technique by "ruffling" the lacey trim as well.

The Pink Paislee chipboard alphas that I used for the "Snow White" at the bottom of the page were originally a dark orange-ish color, so I sanded them, went over them with a red marker to bring out more of the red in the layout and then sanded the edges and added some Stickles glitter glue. The Prima flower was originally a lot bigger, but it was a bit too large for this layout so I simply trimmed off the bottom layer and will use that for a future card or layout. I also used a black and brown marker to do a little bit of faux stitching on the papers as well as helping some of the smaller details stand out more.

Thanks for stopping by, and make sure to leave a comment on the giveaway post for a chance to win some ribbon and perhaps a few other little things!

some more Disneyland pictures

Since some of you are dying to see more pics, here you go :)

Meeting Tinkerbell

A hug from Snow White

The evil Captain Hook

and our cute Aimee

I think that the best part of our trip was seeing the looks on the girls' faces as they got to meet a lot of the Disney characters. We had lunch with the Princesses on Tuesday and breakfast with Minnie and friends on Wednesday, allowing them to meet many of the characters besides those others we met in various locations at the park. And there are still SO many more :) I hope y'all don't get tired of them. I think I'll print some off tonight and do some scrapbook pages, too.

home from Disneyland

We had a fabulous week at Disneyland and I can attest to it being "the most magical place on earth." It really is. We did so much while we were there that it will take a while to get it all on here, but I'll share a few picture with you right now. I am so tired and my head is spinning from all of the flying yesterday but it is well worth the fun we had. The girls were simply glowing as they took in all of the sights and sounds of the park, they loved meeting the Princesses and other characters and had a wonderful time on the rides. Would you believe that I took more than 500 pictures? Yep...we have a very well-documented trip.

We weren't sure what Aimee would think of everything since she is so young but she loved it as well. With as much going as we did over the four days we spent at Disneyland she didn't get a nap everyday but she was still her sweet, cheerful self. The biggest complaint we had out of her was when Captain Hook tried to talk to her. I guess he probably gets that reaction from most of the ladies he meets except for Hailey and Sarah. Hailey was so excited to see him and kept laughing and saying, "Captain Hookey, Captain Hookey..." and it was so much fun. I am so tired and am probably not making much sense right now...But here are a few pictures for you to enjoy until the next time.

I have LOTS more pictures and stories to tell but will have to save those for another time.
