guest designing for My Mind's Eye

Good morning!

I had the opportunity to guest design for My Mind's Eye this month using the brand new "On Trend" collection.

Here is one of the layouts that I created for them:

a new layout for Noel Mignon

I can't believe it's the middle of the week already.

And, it is almost the middle of the month, too!

This year has really flown by for me. How about you?

It seems that it never slows down!

Today I have a new Noel Mignon "Early Autumn" kit layout to share:

We were walking around in the At Home store in town and Hailey came across this fun Halloween display. She is typically quite reserved so of course I pulled out my phone and snapped a picture when I saw her goofing around with the witch!

Noel tries to add an item to the kit each month that will last for a while- an ink pad, spray mist, a roll of tape, etc. This month we got this fun golden Mister Huey spray ink. I used it to "paint" on my background by dipping my paintbrush right into the bottle. I used some Heidi Swapp blue and green Color Shine mist as well. I think it's a great way to spice up a background and still have the white space.

Adding the spray ink to the background also created a great place for the white My Mind's Eye rub-on part of my title.

For this page I did something that I hadn't done before- I used an entire pack of brads on my page! I know, it probably seems crazy but I tend to not use up a whole pack so they just add to the stash I have in my room. I think I tend to use enamel dots more often and didn't want the pack to just hide in my room for a long time so I cut the top of the packaging off and put some foam adhesive on the reverse side and stuck the whole sheet down on my layout.

Do you tend to use brads?

How do you use them in fun ways?

Have a fantastic day!

playing with My Mind's Eye

One of my favorite manufacturers of all time, from way back in my earliest scrappy days is My Mind's Eye.

I tend to buy and hoard their product and scrap with it when I get some down time to scrap whatever I want.

Here I mixed some beautiful MME papers and enamel shapes with a burlap heart I found in a dollar spot somewhere:

I cut the "me and you" title from silver paper I got in a Scrapbook Circle kit when I guested for them this month, I believe it's from Chickaniddy. The "me and you" circles are cut from a MME 2x3 card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

cutie cowgirl in little pink boots

Hey there!

How is your weekend going so far?

Do you have some fun things planned?

I have a quick and easy page to share today that I made using a bunch of products from My Mind's Eye:

Lily is one of two of our girls who were born in Texas.

She, however, SOUNDS like a Texan with her southern drawl and love for her cowgirl boots. She has had a pair since about the time she could walk and wears them whenever she can.

Everything here is from MME with the exception of the gold alphas (American Crafts), "cuteness" sticker (Heidi Swapp) and twine (The Twinery).

The little enamel dots and shapes are so fun! I pulled out some older tapes to add a little bit of something extra to my page along with some mist from Studio Calico.

have a fantastic weekend!

Hi.

Just a quick card to share today.

For this I used tapes from My Mind's Eye and a card from the Basic Grey Capture collection.

I hope you have a nice day!

another Project Life card layout and reminder

How many of you are glad it's almost the weekend?

I sure am, and we don't have any big plans so we can stay home and relax and recuperate from the stomach bug that is going through the house.

Yesterday I shared with you a page that I made using Project Life-style cards and I have another one for today.

I used some of the new My Mind's Eye pocket page cards, stickers from My Mind's Eye ("you rock") ( Jillibean Soup ("you"), October Afternoon ("are") and Heidi Swapp ("fabulous", hearts, stars, arrows). The wood heart is from Dear Lizzy.

I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine mist on the background and mixed some Heidi Swapp star stickers in.

For those who "collect" pocket page cards, using them on traditional layouts is a great way to keep them from taking up too much room in your scrap supply ☺

If you would like to win a mixed selection of cards please scroll down to the post just below and leave a comment. I will choose a winner on Monday and will send you some from my ever-growing stash.

Have a great weekend!

a simple card for today

Good morning!

It's the middle of the week, a busy one around here since the kids have open houses for their classes in the mornings at school. Today it's my second-grader. Right now I just hope we're able to get out the door on time!

Today I just have a simple card to share, one that can be made in about 5 minutes.

I made this one using the Cut & Paste collection from My Mind's Eye.

Here is another peek at something I've been working on lately:

Have a great day!

fly by post this morning

It is another quick-post day.

One of the kids had a bad dream and came into our room around 3 and we all overslept so we are rushing as fast as we can to get out the door today.

Here is another page created with the My Mind's Eye Cut & Paste with a few American Crafts Thickers thrown in for good measure ☺

Have a great day!

my sweet Aimee and some more MME

Can you believe it?

I have actually been blogging almost every day lately.

It's been nice to have some down time to scrap and have those things to share with all of you. I mean, the twelve people who are still reading my blog ☺

Is anyone out there?

I know we get busy but hardly anyone comments anymore. I think in this fast-paced world we live in we are lucky to get to read blogs let alone comment on them. Feel free to comment here ☺

Anyway, I've had this picture of my Aimee for about 6 months now and finally got it scrapped- she is a sweetheart, a beautiful girl who doesn't have a volume knob- she is either on or off. There is no soft for Aimee. She is 100% or nothing. And we love her. She loves softball and hated gymnastics class- not as competitive as her older sister. She still sucks her thumb at night, makes friends wherever she goes, is taking her time with learning to read, is feisty and sweet all at the same time.

Here I've used more of the My Mind's Eye Cut & Paste collection- scrapping  just for fun.

The thing about scrapping "just for fun" for me is being able to use whatever I want. No restrictions, no worrying about which company's product I put on my page. I can mix it up however I want. Here, though, I did pretty much stick to the collection I was using but added in some Thickers from American Crafts. Because who can scrap without Thickers? They are my all-time favorite letter stickers and I use them (especially because I have way too many of them) whenever I can.

I used lots of the embellishments from the collection and added bits of twine and little enamel dots. The star tape isn't from the Cut & Paste collection but it is from MME. From a boy collection, I think. Between MME and my tapes from Queen and Co. and Bella Blvd I have lots to choose from and use them on just about every page lately.

What is your favorite manufacturer?

Do you have a favorite type of embellishment?

I like so many of them, it's hard to choose just one. So, when I get the chance I try out different things.

Have a great day- it is going to be a busy, back-and-forth day here.

It's Monday again!

The kids have been out of school for two weeks for their Christmas holiday and during that time off I thought all along that they were supposed to go back to school today. I was wrong. They go back tomorrow.

Don't get me wrong...I love my girls and love having them at home with me. During the school year things are so busy that we don't get a lot of time to spend together so having them home is so nice. But, I can tell that they are ready to go back. They are grumpy with each other and with me and I think they are craving their routine, whether they realize it or not.

And so am I.

So for today we will play and do something fun, they'll head back to gymnastics and dance tonight and tomorrow we will get back to  our regular schedule.

With CHA trade show work done and a no assignments due this week I had some time to just play with some of the papers in my stash again. I've been going through the Cut & Paste collection from My Mind's Eye this past weekend (thanks to the Scrap Review gig I used to have I received the entire Cut & Paste collection in all four color schemes) and have this and a couple of other layouts to share with you this week.

Here is little Lily at the park on the day that I taught her about making wishes and blowing off the fluff from dandelions. She was so cute, having so much fun running around the park to find more "wishes."

These little hearts were originally part of an embellishment but I decided to cut that apart and use the hearts all over the page. The gray twine here is from Doodlebug. All other product besides what I specify to be different is from the My Mind's Eye Cut & Paste collection.

The yellow alphas are some of my favorite Thickers from American Crafts and the little "xoxo" is from Studio Calico. All tapes and stickers are from My Mind's Eye.

What are you doing with your Monday? Are your kids back to school already?

Have a fantastic day!

some fun scrapping in 2014

I finished up my projects for the upcoming trade show and can't wait until I can share those with you.

I have some assignments to do for this month but decided to take a bit of a "mental health day" and do some scrapping with some papers from my ever-growing stash just for fun.

I got the Cut & Paste collection from My Mind's Eye when I was on the team over at The Scrap Review. It's a gorgeous collection with 4 color schemes and complete with papers, tapes, and lots of embellishments. I made two layouts and a card and will share one of those with you right now:

I cut the white cardstock background by welding some heart shapes together in my Silhouette program and then added it to this ombre background.

I cut up some of the embellishments (the arrow was originally on a card with two other arrows and the blue flower had another center instead of the pink button)

I added some of the fun word stickers and a few punched stars

The spray mist is the gold and navy mist from Heidi Swapp- these are my new favorites! I think I will have to buy another bottle of the gold because I've been using it so much lately.

Have you done any crafting in this new year?

I'd love to see what you've made recently. Link it up!

Have a great day!

My Mind's Eye Sisters layoutsc

When our kids start to fight and be mean to each other my husband likes to ask the girls, "What are sisters supposed to do?" to which they hesitantly recite, "love each other and serve each other."

While that has become a bit of a tortuous thing for them it is so true, and something I hope that they learn very well in their little lives.

I created a page using some of the new My Mind's Eye and this picture of Sarah and Aimee. They are a couple years apart and share a room. They are both very headstrong and loud and tend to butt heads at times. I loved this picture of them having fun together and acting like they really DO love each other. ♥

I have scrapped this picture previously but it works so much better with the color scheme in this My Mind's Eye collection, don't you think? I added some little cardstock hearts from American Crafts Dear Lizzy and an old Basic Grey asterisk I had on my table. The alphas are old Making Memories corrugated letters. All of the mist is from Studio Calico.

I am a washi tape hoarder- I will admit it- and loved the new aqua polka dotted washi from My Mind's Eye.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

a new layout to share starring Lily Bee and my Cameo

Good morning!

I've turned into quite an insomniac lately- going to bed late and then waking up at the crack of dawn. At least it ensures me some quiet time for a few minutes before the kids wake up and the daily routine starts.

Today I thought I'd share a new layout that I created this past week. I recently got a Silhouette Cameo and I've been giving it a workout, including some of the elements on this page.

That cute kraft chevron heart and the flower were both cut with my Cameo.
Papers and pink birdie rub-on are from Lily Bee, alphas are from October Afternoon and American Crafts, brad is from Crate Paper. Stitch and yellow flower rub-ons are from October Afternoon, tapes are from My MInd's Eye and Ki Memories.

The Fall Core Collection from Lifestyle Crafts

Hi!

I hope that you're all having a great summer.

Right now we're on vacation so this is one of my fun little pre-scheduled posts but I wanted to share with you a project that I made using some of the new Fall Core Collection die cut templates from Lifestyle Crafts.

I created this layout using quite a few of them- the business card holder, nesting clouds and ticket punches (I used one for a journaling spot and used the negative image from a whole strip of tickets as the backdrop for my layered clouds). I really like that along with the new butterfly and ticket punches you also get a single punch in the same size!

Because as I type this the dies haven't yet been released so I will add the product images after I get home from my trip!

(I apologize for the funny color- as I am typing this on the 3rd it is after midnight and I wasn't able to get a very good picture of the layout.)

I used the business card holder to place my hidden journaling and mounted my picture and  Dear Lizzy Neapolitan embellishments right on top of the envelope.

For this I used papers from Echo Park (chevron background), Lily Bee, American Crafts, Studio Calico and embellishments from American Crafts and My Mind's Eye.
