sharing a quick Christmas project on 12.12

My girls have been so excited that today is 12.12.12.

So, for them, I will share a quick Christmas project for you in honor of the day and maybe I will add another project that I hadn't shared yet.

This one was created for Lily Bee- we're sharing lots of fun Christmas ideas as the big holiday draws closer. I like quick and easy projects during a time when there isn't a lot of time for crafting and this one was perfect. It's just a simple paper chain like the ones we made as kids to help count down to the holiday but with the cute Christmas Cheer paper line from Lily Bee it's so much more festive.

This was on our tree before we got all of the decorations on, and before a lot of the decorations got taken off via the kids knocking the tree over, for that matter. It is now on the "kid" tree and looks so fun and festive. And, if it breaks it's okay because it's just paper.

This page is kind of a hodge-podge of things but the bright colors are fun. It took me a while to get on the instagram bandwagon, mainly because I don't have a fancy iPhone, but once we got our iPad and I found the Instagram app I was hooked! It's so fun to capture those random little moments.

Hi again.

I should really be cowpoking my girls to get ready for school...

Here is another layout that I created using the December kit from Gossamer Blue:

The picture is from our wedding reception- my has time flown so quickly. 

I really liked the vellum banners from Crate Paper. The frame is a cut file included with the kit. 

sad today

It is afternoon now; I am sorry for the late post today.

I found out early this morning that a dear friend of mine passed away last night. She'd been battling colon cancer for a year and finally it was time for her to go. She fought valiantly and was such an inspiration to so many people. My daughter, Sarah, is good friends with her daughter so we got to know them pretty well. I am so sad...sad to say goodbye even though I know that she is in a better place, is not hurting or suffering anymore. Yadda yadda yadda. We say that, but even with knowing that there is life after death, even believing in our Saviour who died for us and allowed us to be resurrected and live forever, it is still hard to say goodbye, it still hurts. And, that is okay. We are allowed to grieve because it is painful to say goodbye to those we love. Thank God it is only temporary.

So, I am taking things slowly today, not getting much done that is productive. 3 of the kids are at school, the other is down for a much-needed nap for a little bit longer and then the chaos will begin again.

I will share another Gossamer Blue project with you. I absolutely loved being able to work with this kit as a guest designer this month and had fun creating with the fun mix of product that Lori always puts together.

On this page I used the frame Silhouette cut files included with the kit and like how they are a main design element on the layout. I loved the KI Memories snowflake sheet, too, and cut out lots to use on this page.

the Gossamer Blue December kit is up!

It was really so much fun to be a part of Gossamer Blue even for just a month.

I really like Lori's kit style, the great mix of embellishments and papers from different manufacturers and how everything goes so well together between the kits.

What do you have planned for the day?

We will be trimming our tree, decking the halls, watching the girls in their gymnastics Showcase, going to the annual Nativity program at our church and also doing some scrappy projects due this weekend.

It will be busy but so much fun!
