silly kid antics and Queen & Company Designer Tapes

Hi!

I hope you had a good weekend.

Today I have a quick page to share using some of the new-ish Designer Tapes from Queen and Company.

I used a piece of Studio Calico paper as my background and then created some Instagram frames using tapes and some metal dies from Lifestyle Crafts. The hearts and banners are also cut using Queen tapes and the stars are a mix of tape, cork (from Lifestyle Crafts) and some gold glitter cardstock from Core'dinations. The green foam alphas are American Crafts Thickers. The chipboard camera is by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper and the heart journal spot is an old one from Jenni Bowlin.

I love dipping into my stash!

What have you created with washi tape?

I'd love to see so link me up!

playing with punches and BasicGrey Highline

Hi!

Today I have a layout to share that I created for BasicGrey using the Highline collection and punches from Lifestyle Crafts.

The star and heart punches are from the new Albums Made Easy set from Lifestyle Crafts.

I cut the strips of paper, punched out lots of hearts and stars from a variety of papers and then stapled the shapes to the paper strips. After that I adhered the strips to my page.

You can see more BasicGrey projects on their blog.

fun with texture and Lifestyle Crafts

Hello!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Today I have a few cards to share with you that I created using some of the brand new embossing folders from Lifestyle Crafts. In case you hadn't heard, Lifestyle Crafts/We R Memory Keepers was recently purchased by American Crafts. Now you can get even more great scrapbooking and crafting supplies all in one place.

For these cards I used the following supplies:

Lifestyle Crafts Evolution diecutting platform
Lifestyle Crafts Embossing folders: stripe, chevron, wood grain, polka dot
Lifestyle Crafts Albums Made Easy dies: Instagram frames, Icons
Lifestyle Crafts 4x12 vellum sheets
Lifestyle Crafts adhesive cork sheets
Lifestyle Crafts Kraft chipboard
We R Memory Keepers Albums Made Easy: Bloom journaling cards
We R Memory Keepers Enamel Shapes: Cool
Heidi Swapp sentiment sticker
American Crafts foam Thickers and cardstock

For this card I combined lots of  texture by using both the cork and the embossed paper. I used the larger of the two Instagram frames cut out of the cork and it worked so smoothly! I love that you can use the dies to cut so many different materials and it works well every time.

It is easy to use the embossing folders. All you have to do is cut your paper to size, put it inside the folder, close it and run it through your Evolution or other diecutting platform (Big Shot, etc.)

It may be hard to tell in this main picture but below you can see the striped lines on the white vellum. It adds a bit of sophistication and detail to an otherwise simple card. I LOVE the Instagram frames die. I can see myself using this one over and over and over! This is the smaller of the two in the set.

For this last card I decided to try out the Lifestyle Crafts kraft cardstock. It runs as smooth as butter through the machine and works so well with the embossing folders!

For this simple card I used the kraft carstock, a journaling card from the Bloom Albums Made Easy set, a cork heart cut using the Instagram Icons dies and a couple of enamel dots. It makes for a pretty, quick and easy card.

Have you tried out the new dies or embossing folders from Lifestyle Crafts yet?

National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop with Lifestyle Crafts

Hello and happy National Scrapbook Day!

It's so great to have you here.

If this is your first time visiting my blog, thank you for stopping by!

If you've been here before, thanks so much for coming back ☺

For the hop today I've created a layout using Lifestyle Crafts metal sheets, star punches, Twinkle embossing folder and We R Memory Keepers stitch templates (sentiments, stars, zigzag border) and thread. I've also used papers from the WeR Inked Rose collection and some mists from Heidi Swapp and Studio Calico.

Here are a few closer looks:

The stitching templates are so simple to use! All you have to do is choose the one you want, place it on your paper where you'd like the design to be and poke holes as shown. Then pick a color of thread to match your project and go to work! It adds such a fun homespun element to your projects.

The punches and embossing folder were so easy to use with the metal sheets. They were so smooth! I am going to have to try using this on other projects! I like that Lifestyle Crafts has so many fun products (like the metal, cork and vellum sheets I've used on projects in the past).

I used a variety of the We R Memory Keepers threads to add lots of pops of color to my page.

You are in for quite a treat with this hop.

adding lots of texture with Lifestyle Crafts

Good morning!

Today I am going to share with you how to add texture to your cards by using products from Lifestyle Crafts. For these cards I used the following supplies:

Evolution tool with cutting/embossing platform, mat B for embossing
Lifestyle Crafts embossing folders ( Doily, Twinkle, woodland, Happy Birthday)
Lifestyle Crafts adhesive cork
Lifestyle Crafts dies (heart, circles, butterflies, photo corner)
We R Memory Keepers Albums Made Easy Tangerine kit
We R Memory Keepers enamel shapes (warm, cool, neutral)
We R Memory Keepers red North Pole chipboard alphas

Tiny Attacher stapler
white and colored cardstock

I gathered my materials and cut my card bases. I made the cards a standard 4.25x5.5 size when folded and cut the white cardstock slightly smaller to fit on the card front. It was this white cardstock that I embossed in the next step.

To emboss, simply place your cardstock in the embossing folder and run through the Evolution machine.

Here is what the cardstock looks like after being run through the machine:

After embossing the white cardstock I added an embossed pattern to each of my card bases, added some cards from the Tangerine Albums Made Easy kit and the diecut pieces I made from the Adhesive Cork. I added some enamel shapes and my cards were just about done.

Albums Made Easy: Layout Style

Hello again!

Today I have a fun layout to share with you using lots of fun products from Lifestyle Crafts and We R Memory Keepers.

One of my favorite products lately is pocket cards and there are so many varieties available at the We R shop.   You can use my code SCRAPPIN at shopwer.com and get a 20% discount on anything in the We R Memory Keepers Store.

For this page I used the following products:
Chalkboard Collection Blackboard patterned paper
Chalkboard Collection Emerald patterned paper
We R Memory Keepers Albums Made Easy Journaling Cards: Captured
We R Memory Keepers Tape Multipack
We R Memory Keepers Enamel Shapes- Cool and Warm
Lifestyle Crafts Bag Template (heart shape)

I started with a 12x12 patterned paper base and cut an 11x11 sheet of green paper and adhered that over the patterned paper, then added some spray mist detailing.

I then looked through the Albums Made Easy Captured Journaling Cards and chose some that I wanted to use for my page that coordinated with my pictures. I picked some 2x3 and some 4x6 cards. Some of the 4x6 were layered on the background and others I used for embellishments as you can see in the picture below. There are so many other ways to use the Albums Made Easy kits even if you don't use the albums. I like to use them on layouts and cards but you can also use the embellishment technique for extra detailing in your album.

I cut the above banner accent and used it on the top left of my page. I also cut the "this is what makes me happy" piece to use as part of my title and cut the pink/red heart from a 2x3 card as aother accent for my layout.

I used the heart die from the Bag Template kit and cut some extra hearts from the scraps of the 4x6 cards and added those randomly on the layout. I also used bits of the washi tape multipack to add some extra color (love these tapes!)

Here is another look at the banner accent:

I also added some of the cute enamel dots and hearts as you can see below:

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

Lifestyle Crafts Heart punches and a giveaway

I must have Valentine's Day cards on the brain or something!

I sure have created a lot of them for assignments lately.

For my Lifestyle Crafts February post I decided to create a couple of cards as well using the heart punches.

I really like the LC punches because they allow you to cut out so many shapes very quickly.

For these cards I used:

Lifestyle Crafts heart punches
Lifestyle Crafts Pocket Scrap Starter dies
We R Memory Keepers Inked Rose 6x6 pad
We R Memory Keepers red washi tape
We R Memory Keepers Gold Metallic Chevron Washi Tape
Sticky Thumb adhesive

I wanted to make a card base with rounded edges so I started off by using the largest of the rounded corner dies in the Pocket Scrap Starter Dies kit, using washi tape to hold the die exactly where I wanted it on my paper.

I then cut hearts with the small heart punch and Inked Rose 6x6 paper pad

For this card I added strips of the Gold Metallic Chevron washi tape and layered hearts on top with foam adhesive

I added a shorter piece of white cardstock to the already-cut gray base and then cut thin strips of patterned paper, then trimmed the edges and added them to the bottom of my card. I added a few staples, a couple of hearts and a stamped sentiment (Amy Tangerine roller stamp from American Crafts).

Have you ever tried the Lifestyle Crafts shape punches?

How would you like to win a set?

Take a look at the punches available here and I will choose one winner to receive the punch set of your choice. Leave a comment with the name of the punch set you would like to win and make sure that you leave a way for me to contact you in case you are the winner.

I will choose a winner on Sunday, February 16th.

a card for today

**leave a comment in the PageMaps U Card class post below for your chance to win a spot in the class***

It is Friday and I am so glad!

I think that I need a vacation to somewhere nice and warm ☺

Yesterday I shared with you a layout that I created using the Lifestyle Crafts butterfly punch and adhesive vellum and cork. I used some of the extra butterflies to create this card:

The tags are from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic collection and the pearls are from Queen & Co. As I do on many of my projects, I added a few staples here and there with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher. The "hello" was cut from paper from Fancy Pants.

What are your plans for the weekend?

I hope that it's a great one for you.

using Lifestyle Crafts dies as stencils

**For your chance to win a spot in the PageMaps U Card class please leave a comment on this post.**

Hello again!

Today I have a project to share with you that I created for Lifestyle Crafts for this month.

I really like the LC dies for quickly cutting shapes for projects but decided to change things up a bit this month and use them in a different way- as a stencil.

I chose the large butterfly punch since I'd planned to use butterflies on my page. This would further emphasize the theme of the layout. I simply laid the die down on my patterned paper (from We R Memory Keepers) and sprayed over the die with white Mister Huey mist from Studio Calico. I moved the die up the page to continue the effect.

After I finished with the "stenciling" I turned the die over and did kind of a stamping effect using up the spray mist that had accumulated on the back of the metal die. This helped to create a subtle but visually interesting backdrop for the fairy picture of my Aimee.

Here are a few close-up shots where you can see the misted/stamped background as well as the butterflies I cut out of Lifestyle Crafts adhesive vellum using the same buttefly punch.

The gold butterflies were cut from Lifestyle Crafts gold Shape N Tape washi paper, as was the word "today." I used the Shape Pocket Scrap "Today" die set for that word and Shape Pocket Scrap Starter Dies set for cutting the patterned paper cards behind the picture.

The alphabet stickers are some of my favorite Thickers from American Crafts. The cork is also available from Lifestyle Crafts/We R Memory Keepers and cuts so easily in your diecutting machine (Evolution, Big Shot, etc.)

And here is a look at the finished page:

What do you think of the stencil/stamp work I did using the Lifestyle Crafts metal butterfly die?

My Christmas Girl and a Lifestyle Crafts winner!

Good evening!

I've had some internet problems today but wanted to get this post up- FINALLY!

I have picked a winner for my Lifestyle Crafts giveaway- Tammy!

I have emailed her and if she doesn't respond I will choose another winner.

Thanks to Lifestyle Crafts for the fun giveaway.

I also have a new layout to share with you that I created for Pebbles Inc. for this month:

My Sarah was born at the end of the year and her name means "Christmas Princess," something that I think she really loves. She enjoys everything Christmas-related, but especially the decorations, lights, and going to see the Nutcracker Ballet.

This page was made with a mix of papers from the Pebbles "From Me To You" collection along with some Thickers, washi tape and twine. I added some Heidi Swapp mist and some sequins from my stash.

Here are a couple of detail shots:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

p.s. I will have the fun opportunity of designing for the Basic Grey booth this CHA and I'm thrilled.

Have you seen the sneaks yet?

They have another big surprise as well, so make sure to check the Basic Grey blog
