just another manic...Tuesday?

We're having a bit of a rough start to our day at home and yes, I am escaping from it all by sitting at the computer to blog this layout.

It's another that I created a while back for fun and didn't share it.

There is a mix of manufacturers on the page. I think there's some Crate Paper, Basic Grey ♥ along with some Simple Stories and Jillibean Soup. The gold tape is something that I had to put on everything for a while simply because I ♥ it. I got on the gold train a little late but it just gives things a special pop that I really like.

The stars were cut on my Silhouette machine...they'd been sitting around in a pile of things I cut thinking I'd use them right away but didn't. Do you ever do that? I find it easier to cut a bunch of things that would work on a variety of projects and save them for future use.

This page features my two youngest after their swim lesson graduation. They'd been nagging me to get cotton candy and I'd promised them that on their last day of lessons we would get them each their own. Lily's was bigger than her head, ha ha.

 Have a fantastic day!

more felt roses from Queen & Co.

Today I'd like to share a layout that I made for a trade show for Queen & Company using the pretty felt roses:

These roses are super-easy to use and add an elegant touch to any project.

Have a great day!

easy Home for Christmas tree ornaments

Handmade ornaments are a fun way to dress up a Christmas tree.

I made these paper ornaments using some Silhouette cut files and the Home for Christmas collection from Pebbles Inc.

These ornaments took just minutes to make. The part that took the longest was cutting them out on my Silhouette Cameo. After that I assembled them and added either twine or gold ribbon.

This star was my favorite.

I hope that you are enjoying this beautiful holiday season.

The Aurora collection from BasicGrey

Hello there!

I hope that you all had a great weekend.

It is the first day back to school for my kids.

It is bittersweet- I love having them home, love getting to spend time with them and know that time is in no way slowing down so it makes me sad that the time is so short. On the other hand, they are getting on each others' nerves and mine at times because sometimes too much family togetherness isn't the best thing. I do love my kids and will miss them so much today.

Little Lily is about to have her world rocked a bit, too, since she's used to having all of her big sisters around all of the time.

Today I'd like to share a couple of projects that I made with the brand new Aurora collection from BasicGrey.

I used my Silhouette Cameo for both layouts and filled in some spaces with papers and embellishments from the Aurora line. I really like the color combination of the blue and coral mixed with the purple. The star background papers are my favorites!

Have a great day!

our little gymnast and some Fancy news

Gymnastics season is upon us and I am so excited!

In honor of my daughter's practice meet today I wanted to share my very last layout that I created as a member of the design team at Pebbles Inc.

I used the Americana collection, which worked well with the pictures of my girl in her blue leo and with the flag background at the gym.

I cut the star background on my Silhouette Cameo from this grid paper from the Americana collection and added it to my white cardstock background after adding some spray mist.

Aren't these glittery Thickers so fun? The foam Thickers are my favorite ♥

Good luck to this cute girl and her team as they start their competition season!

Also, for some fun news head over to the Fancy Pants blog today!

I am so excited to be a part of this brand new, one-of-a-kind team and to get to work with so many of my talented scrappy friends.

the beautiful Vivienne collection from BasicGrey

Here is another layout that I made using the new Vivienne collection from BasicGrey.

I cut the triangle background and "beautiful" from white cardstock on my Silhouette Cameo and misted the background paper with white (Studio Calico Mister Huey) and gold (Heidi Swapp Color Shine).

I tucked little cardstock bits, tags and frames around the page to show off the embellishments.

Have a fantastic day!

Brand new Vivienne collection from BasicGrey

Have you seen the two new BasicGrey collections that were revealed this week?

Check the BasicGrey blog for peeks at both Vivienne and Aurora and for a chance to win the full collections of each.

Vivienne is a beautiful collection with coral, yellow, brown- great for fall scrapping but also wonderful for everyday projects.

I had the opportunity to create with this collection and here is what I made:

I had an idea in my head for one of my projects and hope that this one turned out like I envisioned. I really liked the layout that I did using the Highline collection where I stapled bits to strips of paper. I used the same basic idea to create this only I went with circles this time.

There is so much variety in the embellishments from this collection- from tile alphas to wooden accents, frames, transparent and cardstock pieces and resin flowers. It really is a beautiful line.

I cut the circles on my Silhouette Cameo and then cut/punched the other circles and lots of butterflies which I then added to the circle there on the left. I used punches from Fiskars (largest butterfly) and Martha Stewart. The white and gold twine is something that I picked up a while back from a Target dollar spot.

I will be back soon to share my other Vivienne project along with two using the cute new Aurora line.

playing with Fancy Pants

The other day I decided to pull some things out of my stash and just scrap for fun.

Life has been busy with things for my kids and I just wanted to play ♥

I pulled things from my stash and mixed up a bunch of Fancy Pants collections and like the fun, colorful result.

I used one of these cute library cards for my journaling. I actually cut down the length of the card because I didn't want it to cover up the tail of the Y in "lucky." Don't be afraid to alter your supplies to fit what you want to do on your page.

This silver "lucky" was cut using my Silhouette Cameo. The hearts were cut from gold glitter cardstock using a metal die from Lifestyle Crafts. The "xoxo" was cut using a metal die from Amy Tangerine/American Crafts. I so love gold lately as you have probably noticed. It took me a while to grab onto the trend but now I incorporate it into so many of my projects and I don't see it going away any time soon.

I love the cute little cork hearts and stars that came in a past Fancy Pants collection and I like the texture that they add to my page. These little tags are so fun, too!

Have a great day!

my three year old fashionista

My youngest is so funny about the clothes she wears.

Being as young as she is you wouldn't think she would care as much but she really does.

She has a flair for combining all things sparkly, pink and fancy. And she loves her boots.

She is so much fun.

One the particular day these pictures are from she had her pink sparkly skirt, pink leotard, little cowgirl vest and her sunglasses. She is such a diva ♥ but I think she's adorable and it's such a fun age that I hurried to grab the camera and take some pictures. She was such a fun little poser.

I made the layout using the South Shore kit from Noel Mignon, and it's full of lots of bright summery colors and patterns. I think the kits are sold out but the paper pack is still available. AND...the September kit is going to be so gorgeous- lots of Pebbles Jen Hadfield, Crate Maggie Holmes, My Mind's Eye and so many other fun things. I can't wait for it to get here.

I used the rainbow-striped paper from Simple Stories for my background and of course added some spray mist. That tends to be one of the things I do on every single page. I either spray the background first or add a few droplets here and there closer to when I finish the page. It is always easier to do it first so that I don't have to worry about getting stray ink on anything else ☺

A Silhouette Cameo cut file and those cute green glitter Thickers from American Crafts finished off the title.

playing with My Mind's Eye

One of my favorite manufacturers of all time, from way back in my earliest scrappy days is My Mind's Eye.

I tend to buy and hoard their product and scrap with it when I get some down time to scrap whatever I want.

Here I mixed some beautiful MME papers and enamel shapes with a burlap heart I found in a dollar spot somewhere:

I cut the "me and you" title from silver paper I got in a Scrapbook Circle kit when I guested for them this month, I believe it's from Chickaniddy. The "me and you" circles are cut from a MME 2x3 card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

to the Moon and Back with Studio Calico

Good morning!

Today I have another quick and easy page to share with you.

It was quick and easy because the die cut "to the moon and back" cut on my Silhouette Cameo takes up the bulk of the space on my page.

The papers and wood veneer are all from Studio Calico and the little chipboard tabs and squares are from October Afternoon. Spray mists are all by Heidi Swapp.

Using a simple design left the focus on this cute picture of my daughter from a recent trip to Palo Duro Canyon State Park and also made it quick and easy to get some much-needed scrapping time in that day!

new layout for BasicGrey and a free cut file!

Hi!

Today I have a BasicGrey layout to share that I created for a new Blueprint Challenge.

I used this quilt that I found on Pinterest for inspiration:

And here is my layout:

I started out by creating a Silhouette background cut file that I made with the star from BasicGrey's boy shapes set found in the Silhouette Online store. I created some curved lines and resized the stars to create the spray. I then backed the stars with papers from the Grand Bazaar collection, added my pictures and a few embellishments.

If you'd like to make something using this cut file you can have it for free here

I'd love to know if you use the file so share your projects, please!

Have a fantastic day!

Today I have a page that I made using a Silhouette cut file for the background, the Birthday Wishes collection and some gold glitter paper and foam Thickers from American Crafts.

how about a sunshine card?

Good morning!

It is Good Friday and for the first time I can remember my kids are off of school today.

We usually have to use this day as a snow day make-up and since we didn't get hardly any snow this Winter we get to have the day off.

If only Moms really got days off, right?

I love my kids and we have some fun things planned for this Easter weekend.

Today I will share a quick card using a Silhouette cut file and some paper and embellishments from Queen and Company:

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Be.Loved by Fancy Pants

There aren't a lot of paper collections that I want to run out and buy as soon as I see them but the Be.Loved collection from Fancy Pants is one that I really liked from the first reveal so I picked up a few papers and some of the embellishments from Two Peas and have been waiting for the chance to incorporate it into a layout.

Here is a page that I created with the collection, using a Fancy Pants Silhouette cut file for the background. I moved the text around before I cut and also rearranged the butterflies to fit the design that I wanted.

I misted the background with Heidi Swapp (gold) and SC Mister Huey (blue) and added paper to the back of the butterflies using the Be.Loved 6x6 pad. The alphas are Thickers- those foam glitter ones are some of my favorites!

Here are a few other detail shots:

The twine is from the Twinery, the cork is also Fancy Pants.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Basic Grey Highline collection layout

Hello again!

Today I have a layout to share with you, one that I created for Basic Grey for this past CHA.

This layout uses the brand new Highline collection:

I cut the circle background on my Silhouette Cameo and filled in the holes with bits of patterned paper and embellishments from the Highline collection. The "Sweet" was cut from one of the patterned papers.

I love this picture of Hailey. She is such a sweet, talented, smart and beautiful girl. She is a bit shy and quite the perfectionist. I really like it when I can capture her joy.

Have a great day!

four little fishies and Lily Bee

Good morning!

I got to sleep in today and it was so nice!

I have a new page to share that I created using the August sketch for Lily Bee:

You can see the cute sketch on the Lily Bee blog here.

We pulled out our tiny pool for the kids to swim in one day and they had so much fun!

I cut the waves and sun on my Silhouette Cameo. The waves were a file from my friend, Juliana Michaels.

You can see Christine's cute take on the sketch and other great scrapping ideas at the Lily Bee blog

Have a great day!

sharing Christmas in February

Hi!

Today I'd love to share with you a page that I created for Bella Blvd that was on their blog yesterday.

I like to create a layout each year showcasing our Christmas card for the year and this is what I made for 2012:

We usually try to have a picture of the whole family on our card but with different things going on (work, sickness, etc.)  we never got to take a new one with all of us so I took some pictures of the girls one afternoon in their Santa hats (except for Lily who refused to wear it- the only way I could get her to cooperate was to bribe her with a candy cane). The other picture was taken at a local neighborhood park where they had a fantastic Christmas set-up complete with trees and Nutcracker statues.

I mixed up some "Kiss Me" collection along with some of the brand new "Sand & Surf" collection. Add some cut-out bits, a die-cut tree and star (from my Silhouette Cameo) and some Designer Tapes and stickers and it was all done.
