our Silly Goose

The design team at Noel Mignon is going back to school this week!

Each designger is taking on a challenge from the NM community and I chose to create with spray mists. I have to admit that it wasn't a challenge for me because I really like to use mists and do so on just about every project. I just like the artsy feel that mists add and it helps me when creating with white space- they help the empty space to not feel so plain for me.

So, I set out to create with a variety of spray mists from Studio Calico and Heidi Swapp.

I used them "as intended" to add some color to my cardstock background, added some splatters around the page and also "painted" the edges of my cardstock using the straw from the spray nozzle as my brush.

Here is the final result:

This page was made using the September kit, "Tea for Two" from Noel Mignon

Have a great day!

our little gymnast and some Fancy news

Gymnastics season is upon us and I am so excited!

In honor of my daughter's practice meet today I wanted to share my very last layout that I created as a member of the design team at Pebbles Inc.

I used the Americana collection, which worked well with the pictures of my girl in her blue leo and with the flag background at the gym.

I cut the star background on my Silhouette Cameo from this grid paper from the Americana collection and added it to my white cardstock background after adding some spray mist.

Aren't these glittery Thickers so fun? The foam Thickers are my favorite ♥

Good luck to this cute girl and her team as they start their competition season!

Also, for some fun news head over to the Fancy Pants blog today!

I am so excited to be a part of this brand new, one-of-a-kind team and to get to work with so many of my talented scrappy friends.

song inspiration and BasicGrey

We've had a rainy few days and it's been so great!

We also celebrated our 13th anniversary and spent lots of time with the kids over the long weekend.

Last week I had this layout up on the blog at BasicGrey:

I found a canvas on Pinterest with this part of a James Taylor song. I also had this fun picture of Sarah with a curl in the middle of her forehead that I'd been wanting to scrap. The orange in her shirt went well with the colors of the Grand Bazaar collection.

I used some spray mists and a paintbrush to make a watercolored spot on my page and a Fiskars punch to make the flowers from a variety of patterned papers.

I added Candy Dots to the centers and a few other bits and pieces from the Grand Bazaar and Capture collections including a journal spot, stickers and printed tape.

Have a great day!
