catching some Spring Fever

As I mentioned before, I had the fun opportunity this month to guest design for Color Me Daisy, a fabulous kit club. I loved being on the design team there, met some fabulous scrappy ladies and got to play with some of the coolests products out in the scrappy world.

Here's another look at the April kit from CMD, "Spring Fever."

Filled with papers from Basic Grey, Jillibean Soup and Pink Paislee with embellishments from Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket, Pink Paislee, Jillibean Soup, Jenni Bowlin, lots of buttons and fabric and exclusive elements like little butterflies and handstamped tags. It's such a fun kit!

Here's a look at my projects from this kit:

Thanks again, Michelle, for allowing me to guest design for this kit.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Just to tide you over until the reveal on April 5th and to get you excited to buy your very own kit, here are a few more sneaks!

Doesn't it look like such a fun kit?

I can spill some Color Me Daisy beans...

I loved being a part of the design team at Color Me Daisy. The owner, Michelle, has a knack for putting together gorgeous kits that are a great mix of manufacturers but that go together perfectly. I was sad to hear the news in February that they were changing the kit club format, and that there would no longer be a design team but was excited about the new every-other-month kits in the future and the possibility of guest designing with one of those kits.

Well...I had no idea I'd get to be the first guest designer! When I got the email from Michelle I was beyond excited, and even more so when I found out what the kit contents were. Since I've been given the ok I will share with you some April kit, "Spring Fever" sneaks. You are just going to love this kit as much as I do. I got to play with it yesterday and already have two projects done that I'll share with you soon.

Here are some kit sneaks- doesn't it just make you happy?

Did you notice the new Jillibean Soup white corrugated alphas?
I was so stoked about those being in the kit!

Also included in the kit is some lovely brand new Pink Paislee, Basic Grey and Jillibean Soup! Michelle always includes some handmade tags, too, and lots and lots of buttons.

Don't you love the new Jenni Bowlin butterflies? I do.

Stay tuned for the full reveal at Color Me Daisy on April 5!

I'll share some project sneaks with you soon, too.
Have a wonderful Sunday!!

a sad announcement from Color Me Daisy

This was posted on the Color Me Daisy blog last night:

Color Me Daisy Kit Change Announcement

January 31st, 2010

The title of our kit this month has significant meaning to us. We have loved so much of our “little adventure” we embarked on almost two years ago. Color Me Daisy has been a labor of love, but it has also taken us away from some of the most important parts of our life. We knew this would take our time, but as our sons get older we realize that we are missing more of their lives than we are willing to miss.
We love what we do and have enjoyed providing our kits each month to our valuable customers. To find some balance we have decided to make some changes to our kit offerings after this February kit. We are still working on the details but we can share the following with you:
-       We plan to release a limited quantity of kits up to 6 times each year with a single purchase option, as a result we will no longer offer monthly subscriptions.
-       Kits prices are estimated to range from $30-$40, plus shipping.
-       We have plans to offer you more ideas with your kit purchase
-       Our kits will still feature the latest and greatest from the hottest manufacturers with a mix of papers, embellishments, and extras to keep your creativity blooming.
-       To be notified first of our kit offerings please go to our home page and subscribe to our newsletter. We will continue to advertise when we release kits, but newsletter subscribers will be the first to hear of our kit offerings.

Subscriptions will be cancelled after the February kits have been shipped.  Prepaid subscribers will be contacted to make arrangements for refund options.  If you have any questions that we have not addressed here, please contact us at info@colormedaisy.com.

We thank all of our wonderful customers for your patronage, and hope you will continue to choose Color Me Daisy when we launch our new kit format in April.

****I just have to say how sad I will be to see Color Me Daisy go. It's been fun to be a part of the design team there but I completely understand that family comes first and look forward to the limited kits that will be released. Stay tuned today for my projects made from the February CMD kit.

Homemade Treats from Color Me Daisy

Do you remember this cute kit that I showed you?
Full of Basic Grey Nook & Pantry and We R Memory Keepers Twirl and lots of adorable embellishments, it's been so fun to play with.

Here's a picture of the cute, cute kit:

At Color Me Daisy we are on a rotating schedule where we design every other month, but I end up buying the kits on my off months anyway, so here are a couple of layouts I've put together so far.

Here's my Hailey from a couple months back when the kids did their program at church. Hailey was asked to sing a solo for that program- just the first verse of a song, and she did beautifully, even as sick as she was that day. I was amazed at her poise and confidence and was so very proud of her. It brought tears to my eyes as she sang with her beautiful angelic voice. I used mostly Nook & Pantry on this one with a bit of the WRMK in the butterflies. The red gingham was cut from the stripey piece of paper from the N&P set.

Lots of layering of the little stickers and lots and lots of butterflies.
Yep, I think I love my Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

For this second layout I used some Nook & Pantry for the background and then mostly
WRMK products for the rest of the page.

I love the little Maya Road journal spots but for where I wanted to put this one on my layout the cute little owl's head was going to get cut off so I simply pulled out my kraft knife and did a little cutting.
Oh, so that you know, these pictures were taken on Thanksgiving. Sarah and I were at home celebrating the holiday because she had the stomach flu and was so-so sick. Poor girl. Later in the day I gave her a bath and she seemed to be feeling better so we took some pics of her and her little sparkly magic wand. Even when she was feeling horrible she still had a smile to share. Cute girl.

I cut the flower-shaped WRMK paper and mounted it on the cute pink polka dot Nook & Pantry, did some inking around the edges and some faux stitching. I like that such simple thing like that can make a big difference in my page. I also used my Apron Lace punch.

Here's that little owlie- I added Glossy Accents to his eyes.

And there you have it. I have to teach preschool group today but perhaps tomorrow I can do some more scrapping and have something new to share with you. Have a great day!

a card challenge at Color Me Daisy

For my December challenge and Color Me Daisy I decided to do a card one based on the beautiful sketch Julie Bonner (52 Sketches 52 Weeks) created for us. Her sketch was so fun I just knew it would be perfect for a card as well as for layouts.

Here is her sketch:

Using the sketch and the December CMD kit featuring Pink Paislee's Mistletoe & Co. and Fancy Pants Christmas Magic, I created this card:

I have another kit project to share with you tomorrow, so stay tuned.

And, my January kits will be arriving any day now so I'll have lots to share with you later this week.

Oh, and since it's her birthday, I need to wish my mom a very happy birthday.

Under the Mistletoe projects for Color Me Daisy

The December kit from Color Me Daisy features papers from Pink Paislee's Mistletoe & Co. collection and others from the Fancy Pants Christmas Magic collection. Embellishments are from Maya Road and Prima, ribbons from Fancy Pants and much more. I've had so much fun playing with this kit and have been anxious for the chance to finally be able to share these with you!

I made this page using the polka dot paper from Pink Paislee and the floral from Fancy Pants. I punched some 1-inch circles and cut them in half for the scalloped border at the left edge of my main picture.
Journaling reads: There is something special about putting up decorations
at the beginning of the holiday season.

detail shot of the ribbon and snowflakes

I inked the centers of the Prima rose, made some leaves from the Fancy Pants paper, cut some snowflakes from the My Little Yellow Bicycle diecut paper.

I interviewed Sarah for this fun page using the Pink Paislee Mistletoe & Co collection.

And a couple of quick cards.

Those Pink Paislee Mistletoe & Co. punchouts are so perfect for Christmas cards!

Thanks again for stopping by today! I hope I've given you lots of fun things to look at. Please feel free to leave a comment to let me know what you liked best.

some Color Me Daisy December sneaks

I am having fun playing "Under the Mistletoe"- that's the December kit from Color Me Daisy.

The full reveal will be on November 30 so until then I have just a few little sneaks and I'll have some other projects to share soon as well. Have I mentioned yet how much I love this Pink Paislee Mistletoe and Co. collection? LOVE it...For this first page I used only the Pink Paislee papers and embellishments.

LOVE those Prima Quillen roses, too, and the pretty Maya Road corduroy flowers.

For the second page I combined some of the Pink Paislee and Fancy Pants papers and love the result. I can't wait to share the rest of it with you!!
