fun with sequins

Hello!

Today I have a fun page to share with you using lots of sequins.

They have been quite the trendy thing and I have picked up a few packs here and there and decided to use them in a fun way on my page. Most of these are just sequins I got from the Michael's craft store.

The cards are all from a Heidi Swapp Project Life kit. I cut the "hello" from one of the cards. The alphas are from October Afternoon. Spray mist is Studio Calico Mister Huey in Dewey.

Have a great day!

Heidi Swapp and Project Life

There was quite a bit of excitement in the scrappy world when word was released that Heidi Swapp had partnered up with Becky Higgins and Project Life.

Lots of fun kits and other embellishments have been made available at Michael's stores and I happened to snag one of these one day while in the store looking for birthday party decor.

Here is a quick and simple layout that I made:

I kept the page VERY simple, using a couple of the 4x6 cards, some sequins, American Crafts Thickers, embellishments from the PL kit and some gold scallop tape from the new Pebbles Jen Hadfield Home+Made line.

I cut the heart out of the center of this striped card and saved that for a future project. The center was filled with a variety of sequins from my stash. The spray mists are from Heidi Swapp and Studio Calico.

I think that Project Life- style scrapping is a great idea but I haven't yet started using the cards in a pocket format. I have used quite a few on traditional layouts.

It's time to get the kids ready for school!

Have a great day.

another Project Life card layout and reminder

How many of you are glad it's almost the weekend?

I sure am, and we don't have any big plans so we can stay home and relax and recuperate from the stomach bug that is going through the house.

Yesterday I shared with you a page that I made using Project Life-style cards and I have another one for today.

I used some of the new My Mind's Eye pocket page cards, stickers from My Mind's Eye ("you rock") ( Jillibean Soup ("you"), October Afternoon ("are") and Heidi Swapp ("fabulous", hearts, stars, arrows). The wood heart is from Dear Lizzy.

I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine mist on the background and mixed some Heidi Swapp star stickers in.

For those who "collect" pocket page cards, using them on traditional layouts is a great way to keep them from taking up too much room in your scrap supply ☺

If you would like to win a mixed selection of cards please scroll down to the post just below and leave a comment. I will choose a winner on Monday and will send you some from my ever-growing stash.

Have a great weekend!

making the most of those little Project Life, etc. cards

Have you joined the Project Life fan club?

I have purchased a few different kits but haven't yet joined the bandwagon of using the cards with the plastic divided sheet protectors. It is not because I don't want to but simply because I haven't had a lot of time to get started with it all. I knew that I could use the cards that way once I gave it a chance but also knew that I could use the cards on regular scrapbook pages.

Here is a layout that I created doing just that.

I found these We R Memory Keepers cards at my local Target store and knew they'd go so perfectly with this black and white picture of Sarah and Lily that I took outside of church one Sunday a few weeks ago.

Along with the cards I used some Heidi Swapp mists (LOVE the gold one!), some small alpha stickers from October Afternoon and green twine from The Twinery that I purchased through Paper Issues. The chipboard hearts are old Making Memories ones that I found while going through some older things in my stash. I used a couple of different Martha Stewart butterfly punches.

The large heart is from one of the WRMK cards. It was red on a white background with the striped pattern on back. I cut it out from the card and used the extra paper to make the butterflies.

So there you go- using Project Life cards in a non-traditional PL format.

Have you done such a project? I'd love to see if you'd like to link it up here.

Have a great day!

Project Life and Bella Blvd

One of the new features at Bella Blvd is showing how to do Project Life with Bella Blvd products.

The cards included in each collection make it easy to do the PL format.

I haven't yet started scrapping in the PL style with the sectioned page protectors so I created a layout using the same block style on a traditional page.

I used the new Snapshots collection for this page mixing in a bit of Trick or Treat (grid background) and lots of Designer Tape to jazz up the little cards.

Do you do Project Life in some style?

Thanks for stopping by today!
