Christmas Cheer

Hello!

Today I have a new layout to share with you that I made for Noel Mignon:

This kit has a mix of Fancy Pants, Pink Paislee, Elle's Studio, Maya Road, Pebbles and others.

I am not a stamper, really, but liked the stamp set in this kit so much that I used it to add some little stars to the background of my page.

Have a great day!

sharing a SCT layout and a sneak

I was asked to contribute to the Summer 2014 issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today and since the magazine has been released I'd love to share this layout with you using Pink Paislee's Switchboard collection:

I also have a sneak for you of a layout I will be sharing soon. I am guest designing for Scrapbook Circle this month. For now I will leave you with this:

I will be back tomorrow to share this new layout using the July kit from Noel Mignon:

Happy Sunday!

You Make Me Happy

One day last week I decided to take a break from assignments and play with some product from my stash, mainly the cute new Hello Sunshine collection from Pink Paislee:

This little girl is a ray of sunshine at our house. The pics were from her 3rd birthday.

The vinyl and chipboard accents are so fun! I really like the striped alphas!

Thanks for stopping by today!

sharing some cards today

Today is  my last post on the blog for A Walk Down Memory Lane. It was fun to be a guest designer there this month. Their store has lots of the newest scrappy supplies and the ladies there are so nice!

For my post today I share how you can adapt layout sketches to use for cardmaking.

Becky Fleck kindly allowed me to use some of her sketches for this project and it was a lot of fun!

Here's one of the cards and you'll be able to see the other on the blog as well as the sketches I pulled ideas from.

and a detail shot:

For these cards I used the 6x6 pad from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Life of the Party collection, SRM Stickers, EK Success flower punch, Queen & Co. bling (thanks, Ginger- I made this card while at her house in Houston), American Crafts kraft cardstock and foam adhesive.

You can see my blog post here:

and here is one more project that I did for them that I haven't shared here yet:

This mixes some Cosmo Cricket, Pink Paislee Hometown Summer, My Mind's Eye Lime Twist, Basic Grey, My Little Yellow Bicycle and alphas from American Crafts and October Afternoon.

Have a great day!

finally something new to share

Hello!

The last few days I've taken a break from design team assignments and created some things just for fun.

Here's a layout I created using a mix of My Mind's Eye, Jillibean Soup, Studio Calico, American Crafts, Pink Paislee and Pebbles. I think it's fun to break out my stash once in a while and create something where I can mix and match whatever I want. It's a bit scrambled but I kinda like it.

This little onesie is something that I found in someone's Etsy shop- I thought it was way too cute to pass up since it says, "Adorable baby" and it was accompanied by a shirt for my husband that says "I make adorable babies." He was a little shy about posing in his shirt but here's little Lily.

Have a great weekend!

SRM Stickers and Lily Bee

Lily Bee recently came out with the cutest, happiest collection for summer called "Hello Sunshine."

I looked at the first artwork released by fabulous scrappers like Stephanie Howell and LOVED what she did with it but wondered if I'd be able to work with the bright blues, red and yellow. I decided to order some and find out and then used it on this page for SRM.

Our theme for this month at SRM Stickers was "Celebrate Life," which could lead to many options- of course you think about Pink and cancer and things like that, a very important cause for all of us, especially those of us who have been touched so many times by family members and friends with the disease. You could also scrap about birthdays and other celebrations. I chose to scrap about my family and titled my page, "Celebrate love, celebrate life, celebrate family."

I love to do titles that catch your eye and think that the big title on this page does just that with the mixed alphas (LOVE the big red ones by Pink Paislee and of course I love my Thickers). I also really like to handcut elements from my patterned paper, which I did with the blue and the red papers here (check the right side of the layout). And, I think I did justice to those cute Lily Bee papers ♥ ♥ ♥

I liked the look of the black and white picture with ALL of that color. The black houndstooth tape on the left is from Pink Paislee.

UPDATE: I had to remove the full image because this page will be in an upcoming issue of Scrapbook Trends.

Doesn't the blue SRM "celebrate" go so perfectly with these papers? The swirly on the right is also an SRM Sticker, as is the blue journal spot.I also really liked the look of the SRM Sticker right on top of those cute Pink Paislee red chipboard alphas.

Oh, and it wasn't at all intentional but do you see the visual triangles in each color- the red, the blue and the yellow, how there is an element here and then another there? Totally not planned but I like the effect.

Have a great day!

p.s. WOOHOO!!! This is up as one of the Friday Faves on the Lily Bee blog today:
and it's in the top 5 views/liked/bookmarked at 2 Peas as well. Thank you all so much♥

another challenge at My Scrapbook Nook

Are you ready to get scrappin'? We already have lots of challenges posted for your scrappy feasting and enjoyment. Check the forum at http://www.myscrapbooknook.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=27

I just posted another challenge which you can see here: http://www.myscrapbooknook.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27652

And here is the layout I created:

For this page I used Pink Paislee's 365 Degrees collection. The red swirlies are hand-cut from patterned paper and the flower is made from some adhesive tape and then topped off with a cork button. The butterfly is one of the new ones from Jenni Bowlin. I found out last night that I just won some of Pink Paislee's new Starlight collection because of a comment I left on their blog. I love free scrappy stuff!

It's a cold, rainy day here.
I hope it's warm and sunny where you are.

2 Sketches 4 You card challenge and a Nook crop!

This week SRM Stickers is playing along with 2 Sketches 4 You in a fun card sketch challenge.

This is the sketch that we were given:

And here's my take on the sketch:

Patterned paper and journal spot: Pink Paislee, butterfly: Jenni Bowlin, ribbon: Crate Paper. Sticker sentiment: SRM Stickers. Bazzill card base.

**I just thought you should know that 2S4U is looking for some new designers. All you have to do is play along with the sketches this week and next week and 3 designers will be chosen. More info can be found on this post:   http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/2010/04/kazans-sketch-50-design-team-call.html

p.s. I just wanted to give you a head's up that we'll be having an online crop at My Scrapbook Nook this weekend- all of the fun will start on Friday. Check it out at www.myscrapbooknook.org

catching some Spring Fever

As I mentioned before, I had the fun opportunity this month to guest design for Color Me Daisy, a fabulous kit club. I loved being on the design team there, met some fabulous scrappy ladies and got to play with some of the coolests products out in the scrappy world.

Here's another look at the April kit from CMD, "Spring Fever."

Filled with papers from Basic Grey, Jillibean Soup and Pink Paislee with embellishments from Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket, Pink Paislee, Jillibean Soup, Jenni Bowlin, lots of buttons and fabric and exclusive elements like little butterflies and handstamped tags. It's such a fun kit!

Here's a look at my projects from this kit:

Thanks again, Michelle, for allowing me to guest design for this kit.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

another March kit project

I am just loving the colors in the March kit from My Scrapbook Nook featuring Pink Paislee's Bayberry Cottage line.

This page is one I've wanted to do for a long time, the pictures are a year old and I finally have the perfect papers to scrap them, so here's Sarah and her crazy hair.

I used another one of those clear border stickers and some cork buttons on this page (both add-ons)
and one of my flower punches for the blue flower and then stuck the Jenni Bowlin pins through the cork.

I hand-cut the purple strip from patterned paper, the butterflies were made using my Martha Stewart punch and the green houndstooth is from the ribbon pleat packaging.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and I'll see ya on Monday!

My Scrapbook Nook March kit layout

I stayed up way too late last night and put together most of one layout and then did another today- the colors in this kit are so beautiful- the rich jewel tones so very lovely ♥

I used some of the add-on punchouts on this layout and the little "happiness" one was perfect to go with these pictures of Aimee. Isn't she adorable?!

I also used the add-on Bayberry Cottage stickers along the edge of the artisan tape (which I pleated on both ends) and some of the lovely lace trim.

I'll have another layout to share with you in the morning but for now...time to go to sleep.

If you'd like one of these kits, hurry on over to My Scrapbook Nook before they're gone! You can purchase one here:  http://stores.myscrapbooknook.com/-strse-Kits-cln-Feature-Kit/Categories.bok

p.s. isn't it funny that my blog colors right now match this kit? It was completely unplanned, too.

Pink Paislee sketch layout

Pink Paislee is doing some great new things with their team/site this year and one of them is a sketch contest.

A new sketch is posted each quarter and the randomly chosen winners get a bunch of new Pink Paislee. Sounds like a good idea to me!!

You can read all of the info here: http://livepink.ning.com/forum/topics/1st-quarter-sketch-contest

Here is the first sketch, created by Valerie Salmon of Got Sketch!

And, here is my layout to go with the sketch:

I used Pink Paislee's "Cupid" collection, some Prima flowers and pearls, my Martha Stewart butterfly punch, my old scalloped-edge scissors, my Fiskars Apron Lace punch, red stickers from October Afternoon and a bunch of American Crafts Thickers.

Sundays are busy days around our house so I will see you again tomorrow!

sharing some Pink Paislee

The Pink Paislee Cupid collection is one of my favorites- while it's Valentine-themed it is versatile enough to do pages about just about anything.

One day Hailey did this cute pose for me and I knew it would be perfect to go along with this paper. So, with little bits of time spent here and there I was able to put together this layout.

I hope you're having a great day! We've been playing outside and have been enjoying the beautiful weather this afternoon. From the looks of things outside today you'd never know we had snow just a couple of days ago.

more Cupid from Pink Paislee

I hope that you aren't getting tired of projects made from the Pink Paislee "Cupid" line because I certainly am not getting tired of making them!! I am so glad that we got this collection in our January kit from My Scrapbook Nook. I am still so tempted to get another kit so that I can have more of this cute paper. Anyway,  I finished up this layout and little frame this morning and thought I'd share them with you today.

The layout is about my sweet Aimee and her love for her thumb. She's sucked it since she was a tiny baby and even at two years old she hasn't given it up. I guess the loveliness of a pacifier is that you can eventually take it away. Aimee was never a pacifier baby and I hope that one day she'll grow out of needing to suck her thumb when she's sad or tired or frustrated.

I used my Fiskars border punches on the left of the blue heart paper and on the pink gingham one. I cut downthe brown diecut paper and added a little scalloped edge at the top. I inked my Prima flower to match the papers, punched out some little butterflies with my Martha Stewart punch and used some KaiserCraft  pearls for the centers.

And a shot of the journaling:

I used this little pink Pottery Barn frame that I got in a gift basket from a friend and dressed it up with some Cupid paper, a Maya Road chipboard butterfly, American Crafts ribbon and some KaiserCraft pearls.

Have a great weekend!!

Happy New Year and a couple of new layouts

Happy New Year!!!!

Did you party the night away or fall asleep on the couch while waiting for the ball to drop?

Matt and I usually do the latter- we have such good intentions but we tend to fall asleep on the couch before midnight. Some years we're lucky enough to wake up just in time to see the ball drop in New York City. Last night we were good- we stayed awake and were able to join in the festivities. I tell ya, it seems like 2009 was a rough year for a LOT of people so I hope this year is much, much better.

What way to ring in the new year scrapbooking-wise than to share a couple of new layouts with you?

This first one, created with my Scrapbook Nook January kit with that cute Pink Paislee Cupid line, is one that I wanted to share with you yesterday but the weather just wasn't cooperating well enough for me to get a good picture. We had rain, snow and lots of wind. Today, however, is beautiful! Here is Hailey in her green coat from Old Navy- I wish they had one in my size!! I thought these pics would be cute scrapped with the Cupid collection. What do you think?

I used the brown die-cut patterned paper in the collection as a pattern for the bottom part of this page,
inked the edges (of course!) and some faux stitching with my Sharpie.

I cut out a lot of the cute flowers from the patterned paper to use as accents on this page.

Here I used foam adhesive to add some extra flowers on top of the matching ones on the paper. I also outlined the Pink Paislee glitter alphas to help them stand out better on the busy background.

This second page was made with the Collage Press Joyride collection that I won from their blog before Christmas. Some people don't like Christmas/holiday lines with pink and blue but I loved this one and knew it would be perfect for some pics I took of Hailey last weekend playing in the snow. I couldn't sleep last night so it was a great opportunity for me to have some uninterrupted scrapping time.

I love the little chipboard elements that came with the collection- so cute and so perfect for this picture of Hailey. I added some little rhinestones for a little something extra.

I layered a couple of the journal spots and then used my October Afternoon circle journal spot stamp.
Journaling reads: Hailey couldn't resist playing when we got snow in Lubbock for Christmas this year.

See? The cutest chipboard pieces!!

And, how could I resist adding these cute little clouds? I added some doodling
and some Stickles glitter glue to spice things up.

I hope you are having a great New Year's Day and that you and yours have a wonderful year. Best wishes for health and happiness, love and much scrappiness in this new year. I, for one, can't wait for all of the new scrapbook products to start hitting the shelves after this coming CHA.
