punches of color for Noel Mignon

Today I have another layout to share with you that I made using the South Shore kit from Noel Mignon.

I really liked all of the bright colors and fun patterns in this kit.

Just like I often do, I toned down the background by mounting a piece of white cardstock on top of the background paper. I added some splatters of spray mist and cut lots of randomly sized pieces of patterned paper and layered those on my photo.

I used a Fiskars buttefly punch to create the butterflies from a variety of papers from the kit and stapled those to my page and then lifted the wings to add dimension and an element of fun.

Have a great day!

song inspiration and BasicGrey

We've had a rainy few days and it's been so great!

We also celebrated our 13th anniversary and spent lots of time with the kids over the long weekend.

Last week I had this layout up on the blog at BasicGrey:

I found a canvas on Pinterest with this part of a James Taylor song. I also had this fun picture of Sarah with a curl in the middle of her forehead that I'd been wanting to scrap. The orange in her shirt went well with the colors of the Grand Bazaar collection.

I used some spray mists and a paintbrush to make a watercolored spot on my page and a Fiskars punch to make the flowers from a variety of patterned papers.

I added Candy Dots to the centers and a few other bits and pieces from the Grand Bazaar and Capture collections including a journal spot, stickers and printed tape.

Have a great day!
