finally...

I love the colors and prints of the Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess papers featured in the October kit from My Scrapbook Nook but until today I was not IN LOVE with the papers, wasn't happy with the things I'd produced so far but today I made a page that I really do like and it was more my style than the previous two layouts. The page is layered with lots of different papers, has inking and doodling and I LOVE it.

Isn't it nice when you create something that you are really happy with?

I would like to blame the last two pages on the fact that I just was not feeling well. I hope that's all it was because this page today is a stark contrast from the other two. I am so glad it turned out well. What a relief.

You know, there's a certain amount of pressure that comes with creating a project for a design team assignment. I love to scrap, no matter what, and love the challenge of creating things with a kit with supplies that perhaps I might not have chosen, and this kit is no exception. I just want to do a good job with whatever I attempt to do.

No pressure, right? yeah, right.

So, here is my third attempt at making a layout with this kit. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again, as they say. And, this time, the third time was the charm :)

The majority of supplies here come from the Nook kit but I added some Jenni Bowlin, Basic Grey and Making Memories alphas from my own stash. I also added some KaiserCraft blue and brown pearls. The pretty brown Prima swirly pearls were a kit add-on.

I wanted to use as many patterns from the kit as I could and I think I count 7. Pretty good, I think! I like the look of all the papers used together here. The strip with the pearls was cut from one of the sheets of patterned paper and I used some old scalloped-edge scissors on the blue and white gingham on the tag and to make the scallop on the blue, red and white strip below the pics I simply cut around the flowers on the edge, inked and did some doodling to help the paper stand out.

Here's the little tag I created by simply dressing up one of the tags included in the Making Memories Vintage Findings packet. The butterfly is from the package of Prima pearl swirlies.

So, there ya go! I've done three pages and a card so far and still have lots left over from my kit so be on the lookout for some more Graphic 45 projects in the future!
Thanks again for stopping by my blog! I truly appreciate the feedback, too.

Well now I'm very curious to see the other pages you created w/ this kit...because what you've done here is AWEsome! Truly. So much detail. I love the brown crystals and the MM tag you've added. Looking forward to seeing your future pages too.

OK - just looked at your other posts w/ the Graphic 45 stuff...and you are WAY too hard on yourself! This one is my favorite - but it seems that you put a lot more texture here than in the other pages. Just my 2 cents. ;) Thanks for sharing your work!

Hey Becky, instead of the scrapbooking magazine, can you just copy all of your pages and put them in a book to send to me so I can copy your pages instead of the ones in the magazine. You have a TON more that I like than the magazine does...
