a thank you and some new layouts to share

First off, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who stopped by my blog yesterday for the AdornIt blog hop. It was nice to have so many visitors and comments!! And, thank you, Georgana, for the opportunity to participate in the hop again. You'll have to check Georgana's blog for more festivities going on at ADORNit. Check the link down below in the blog hop post.

Today while my husband and oldest daughter are away with his parents at a football game in Albuquerque (GO COUGARS!!) we are going to relax at home, maybe go to the park for a bit and I am going to scrapbook!! Oh, and maybe we'll run to the fabric store so I can get some material for new curtains in our kitchen/dining room.

Starting yesterday, as I mentioned before, we have the online crop at My Scrapbook Nook. You can find all of the information you need for the challenges so far by clicking on that link up above. Right now there are 22 different challenges posted and there will be more added today with the crop ending tomorrow at midnight. Up for grabs is a guest design team position, a lovely free kit and some other little prizes. Please come join us. It's always quite the party!

I have two more challenges to post today, one of which is to create a Christmas layout. For this I did something I haven't done in a long time- a two-page layout. I had these pictures of Christmas decorations from last year that I've been wanting to scrap somehow but just didn't think they would all work on one page without it looking too busy and without losing some of the detail. I also got to use my December 2008 My Scrapbook Nook kit scraps (ok, so maybe I loved the paper so much I bought some more!) featuring Cosmo Cricket, and it worked perfectly with these pictures.

and a couple of detail shots:

These are my girls on Halloween this year; papers from Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon, Imaginisce and journal spot from Jillibean Soup; alphas from American Crafts, Basic Grey and My Little Shoebox; flower from Sassafras Lass, pins and pink velvet rickrack from Maya Road.

I hope you have a wonderful day today. If you get a chance, stop by My Scrapbook Nook and have a little scrapping fun with us!
