purple cupcakes with pink frosting

I will have to apologize in advance if this post is a bit incoherent but it's 4 in the morning and I've already been up for an hour. This is the second night in a row that Aimee's coughing has kept the two of us up. Cough medicine, nebulizer treatments, the humidifier and propping her up don't seem to be helping very much tonight, at least not enough to get much of a good rest. Surprisingly, though, Sarah and Hailey are sleeping right through it and they're in my bedroom, too. I should have gone back to bed before now but since I have a couple of projects that I need to email I figured I'd just sit up and get them done and do a quick blog post as well.

After taking the girls to get their hair cut on Saturday we made a quick stop at Walmart so that we could grab what we needed to make purple cupcakes with pink frosting along with purple juice (those little Kool-aid bottles) for our tea party. Because I can sometimes be an uptight mom and because the kids not only didn't clean up their messes on Saturday but instead added to them and made a watery mess upstairs we didn't make the cupcakes on Saturday as planned but instead did them yesterday. Here are a few pictures of our fun.

The girls always enjoy getting to decorate their own cupcakes. Aimee's was a bit smashed since she was so anxious to decorate that she grabbed her cupcake right out of the pan. It didn't keep her from having a lot of fun smearing the frosting everywhere. Hailey and Sarah, of course, placed every decoration quite meticulously.

Don't they look delicious?
I limited myself to having just the top since I really need to cut the sugar and lose some weight!

Hailey's creation

Not much of Aimee's frosting actually made it onto her cupcake ♥

And Sarah's yummy treat!

Have a wonderful day! Thank you so much for stopping by.

I don't think that you are an uptight mom...Being a great mom means that sometimes you have to draw the line. So many kids don't know boundaries because parents are too concerned about being their kids best friend that they forget to be a parent. I think that you are great! (and in some ways, more "fansee" than I am.)
