December kit from AC Bailey

The December kit will debut tomorrow at the AC Bailey online store but I have been lucky enough to get to play with it early!! The kit features papers from the Wassail collection from Basic Grey and some beautiful die-cut papers from My Little Yellow Bicycle Sharon Anne Christmas. Also included are some cute ribbons and flowers from the Making Memories Fa La La collection as well as some Wassail brads and a few buttons. So pretty. Just working with these papers got me into the Christmas mood.

Here is one page I've finished so far and you can watch for others this week.
The kit includes everything you see here except for the black Making Memories tiny alpha stickers.

Also in store for AC Bailey consultants is the "12 Days of Christmas" presented by our wonderful design team. We'll be sharing ideas for cards, layouts and other projects to help you get into the Christmas spirit. Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving and the ER

We were planning to spend Thanksgiving with Matt's family. The kids were excited, as were we, and all was ready for us to go when the kids woke up with fevers. They'd been battling colds/cough for a week and I was just hoping that things would be resolved by the time Thanksgiving rolled around. We were not so fortunate, unfortunately.

We ended up going to their house to get our food and then ate at our house. Not exactly the fun family Thanksgiving dinner we were anticipating, but at least we were all together.

As the day progressed Aimee's cough got worse and started to sound really croupy. She had a hard time sleeping because of it and so in the middle of the night we found ourselves in the ER where Aimee received a breathing treatment and some meds to help her feel better. Poor little girl. Happy Thanksgiving to us.

big sale at AC Bailey

So, are you ready for Black Friday? You know, the day when people wake up before the crack of dawn to fight the crowds for all of the good deals?

I have joined in the madness before but don't know if I'll be hitting the sales yet this year. We are trying to cut back a little bit since we don't want to just get the kids a bunch of toys and things that will just end up all over the floor anyway. Instead we are being very thoughtful about the few gifts we are buying, making sure that they are things the girls will actually use.

So, because we are being more frugal, etc. I feel no remorse in spending a little on MYSELF this year. And what am I going to buy, you might ask? Scrapbooking supplies, of course. Starting tomorrow, the day before Thanksgiving, AC Bailey is having a HUGE sale. Yes, HUGE. HUMONGOUS. If you spend $25 dollars, which is so easy to do with all of the cute things in Erica's store, you get 40% off of your order. What a deal, huh? I know I will be there!!! The sale starts on Wednesday and goes through Friday and you can find all of the loveliness in the store right here. Just click on that link and it will take you to the store where you can browse to your heart's delight, and your wallet's as well!

update on our little friend

I mentioned not too long ago about a friend of ours who is currently undergoing treatments for leukemia. Tests were done and the doctors feared that she had relapsed. What an emotional roller coaster for this poor family. More tests were done in the last week and it appears that what showed up on the tests was simply an abnormality and that she has not relapsed. Can you imagine the relief?

We are all so thankful for the sweet thoughts and prayers in her behalf. We are so grateful for this wonderful news and hope she will continue on her road to a full recovery.

sketch fun

I was in a bit of a scrapbooking rut recently and decided that I needed to think a little more outside the box- my 12x12 paper box, that is. So, I created a sketch and used that to create the layout below using pictures of cute Sarah from Halloween this year.

People create sketches all the time using programs like Adobe Photoshop. It was a bit of a challenge for to to make this one using Microsoft Word, but I think it turned out kinda cute! If you would like to create a scrapbook page using this sketch for your inspiration, please feel free! And, if you do, link it here so I can see your take on it :)

We need a little Christmas

I know that it's not quite Thanksgiving but I have had Christmas on the mind lately. It doesn't help that the kids keep asking me how many days are left until Christmas and doesn't help, either, that the stores have had their holiday items out since before Halloween. Not that I am complaining.

Anyone who knows me also knows that I LOVE Christmas and anything related. I love adding to my collection of indoor and outdoor decorations each year, love doing crafts with the kids (we just made some tree decorations yesterday). We have already been listening to Christmas music at home, but I won't tell you how long ago :) Quite some time ago. And, I could listen to it year-round without getting tired of it. The girls love the music, too, and say it's perfect for dancing at the "royal ball."

So, in honor of Christmas, here are some scrapbook pages I have done lately. The picture of the smiling baby Santa is Aimee from last year and the layout was made for a challenge at AC Bailey. Isn't she adorable? The ones of Hailey and the red garland are from last Christmas and the ones of cute Aimee in the sweater are from a couple of weeks ago. Cute kids!! All were made using products available at our wonderful AC Bailey store.

November AC Bailey

For my November projects at AC Bailey I was able to work with the pretty Chatterbox Botanico collection. I like the greens and blues, and they went great with these pictures of Aimee and I at the beach this summer.

AC Bailey November kit

This month's kit features papers in fall colors by 3 Bugs and Cosmo Cricket. I made this layout using the Mr. Campy by CC- the little leaves were cut by hand!
