are you ready for Halloween? and some hot air balloon pictures

My kids are still trying to decide what to "be" for Halloween but we are excited for one of their favorite holidays- a favorite because they get to do one of their very favorite things- dressing up in costumes.

We've already been out to the pumpkin patch once, have had a bag of candy corn (I know it's awful for you but we just have to eat some as soon as it's in the store) and the weather has turned a bit chillier.

Here's a peek at a "Halloween"-y page that I created for American Crafts, shown on their blog yesterday:

Have a wonderful day! I'll be helping out in one daughter's class this morning and have WAY too much to do to catch up after being out of town this last weekend.

What exactly did we do this weekend?

We drove to Albuquerque, New Mexico to see these at the International Balloon Fiesta on Saturday morning:

This one was Sarah's favorite balloons of the show.

Do you see that blue/purple/pink/white balloon? That was MY favorite.
There was also a cool Darth Vader balloon. I took pics of it but haven't edited all of them yet so you'll just have to take my word for it. Maybe I'll post some more pictures tomorrow.

We were standing by these bees as they were being inflated and believe me, they were HUGE!

Hailey really liked this cute fish.

Yes, pigs really do fly ☺

Do we all look SO tired? Well, that's because we had traveled 6 hours the night before and then we got up around 4 in order to get ready, eat breakfast and drive over to the venue. There was so much traffic that it took us more than an hour to go about a mile in distance. We went back to the hotel to take a long nap after the balloons landed. It was so worth it, though.

It was General Conference weekend for our church, as well, a time twice a year when members of our church worldwide gather to listen to our church leaders. Matt was able to go to the mens' session on Saturday night at a local chapel and we went to the Sunday morning session and had a picnic lunch with one of Matt's old friends at the Albuquerque temple before we headed back home to Texas.
