love potion #9

I guess it isn't exactly a love potion but take a look at this:

Inside this bottle of water are dandelions, other flower petals, leaves, feathers and who knows what else.

Sarah was hiding this bottle from me as we were getting out of the car this morning after going to Hailey's awards assembly at the school. She was being slow, was hiding from me, so I knew something was up. Something is always up with Sarah lately- she's the one who makes the big messes and gets into things she's not supposed to. She's curious. She pulled the wick out of my pillar candle today- from the bottom. She disassembled my wedding bouquet on Sunday. She does a million other things that make me want to scream and pull my hair out but I know she's just experimenting and being a curious child.

So, I took this water bottle from her and asked her what it was...

"It's poison to kill the wicked witch so she will DIE!!!"

And, I emphasize the "die" because Sarah surely did.

Of course that's what it is, right? I am surprised that I had to ask.

Either Sarah has been watching too many Disney Princess movies (which she has since we just bought Snow White when it came out on Tuesday) or she has a very active imagination. The latter is true as well.

I think it's so funny to see how different our kids are. How very different.

Hailey was recommended by her teacher this week to be tested for the Gifted and Talented Program at her school and we are supposed to fill out some paperwork and look through some lists of qualities comparing "gifted" students with those who are just "bright" kids to see if she is truly qualified for the program. As if being bright is a bad thing. It's not.

Anyway, I was looking through and one of the comparisons is this:

For the "bright" child- has good ideas

For the "gifted" child- has wild and crazy ideas.

Hailey always has great ideas but Sarah most definitely has wild and crazy ideas. All the time. And a zany sense of humor and quick wit. I wonder if she's one of those gifted kids or if she's just a silly, creative one because she surely that without a doubt.

Anyway, I thought I'd share something a little funny today since I don't have anything scrappy to share...too busy cleaning (not that you can tell from the looks of my house), running errands and wrapping presents for the 3 birthday parties the kids have this weekend.
